Now scientists are studying what the bug’s crush-resistant shell could teach them about designing stronger planes and buildings. “This beetle is super tough,” said Purdue University civil engineer Pablo Zavattieri, who was among a group of researchers that ran over the insect with a car as part of a new study. Massive spider web seen in Missouri photo has some asking: Could it ‘catch’ humans? The intricately designed web appears to be several feet wide and span between trees. Link to image I have literally had these show up in some of my dreams. They're always attached from the lowest tree branches to the ground, and I have to be very careful to navagate around them. The biggest I've ever seen was about 4" or 5" long. Smaller diameter, though. And it had a horn on one end. It was a medium brown color with no fur. This was in central Texas. ~Sue~ ID: 2085542 ·
