Just started giving GPU time to the project but it's not utilizing my gpu at all from what I can tell from usage programs and actual card temp (Radeon 7950). I'm already donating cpu time to Rosetta(does not use gpu) and I added this project for almost exclusive gpu usage and it only seems to be using cpu(the little bit I give it). Checked through settings multiple times and didn't find anything that would help. Am I completely oblivious and just missing something? I'm not too fluent with the boinc software, I've been using it occasionally with pcs over the years as a space heater.... Thanks! |

Please post the first 40 or so lines from the Event Log after you started BOINC. |

Well whist I am not an expert on AMD (old name ATI), I would say that the majority of valid results since the 29th were processed by your GPU. So you are using it. To see your results: Click on you name on the top right of the screen, this takes you to your account page. Under the "Computing" heading on the left. click "Tasks" The far right column here shows how the tasks will be processed. In the top field you will see a "Valid" link, click this and it will show all the tasks you have recently processed successfully, you will see many are either. SETI@home v8 v8.22 (opencl_ati5_SoG_nocal) windows_intelx86 or SETI@home v8 v8.22 (opencl_ati5_nocal) windows_intelx86 This shows that they were processed by your AMD(ATI) GPU. |

Thanks for the response. Interesting. Does the project not usually utilize much of the GPU? Monitoring software reports no usage and the temps are at almost at idle temps, and this card gets hot under load (200w TDP) Is there a way to allocate more resources to it? EDIT: I figured it out, apparently the monitoring software was looking at integrated gpu stats and temps are much lower than the card typically outputs for some reason. I feel stupid. |
