A friend of mine says that he died from complications of diabetes. Sounds like he had some kidney issues resulting from the uncontrolled/mal-controlled diabetes. :-(

When he first started as Vir on B-5 he was pretty heavy; BUT, I thought he lost a good amount of weight later in the series...
