Hi, At the moment I'm running world community grid on my CPU and SETI on my GPU . I've set store at least 10 days of work and additional 10 days of work but I've noticed that when SETI server is under maintenance on Tuesdays I ran out of tasks. Is there any way to store more tasks so my GPU don't sits idle? Thanks |

The project has a hard maximum of 100 tasks for CPU and 100 tasks per GPU. So your only way to get more work is to allow it for CPU, or add a GPU, or to add another project. |

Setting your cache to 10 plus 10 can lead to issues with the cache not being kept topped up - it may be better (and somewhat counter intuitive) to reduce the set the cache to lower figures, I use 6 days, plus an extra 0.1days. This forces regular, frequent cache top usps rather than the "big, infrequent" splurges that can happen with a high "plus x days" figure. Most of the high performance GPUs will run through the 100 task figure in a matter of hours, and lots of folks have asked for larger caches to no avail. If you want to setup a standby project for the GPUs the best way is to set its priority to zero - such projects will only run when (GPU) work on your main project has run out - very useful as you don't have to do anything on outrage day.... Hey Bob, Is there any easy way to discover if a project uses GPU processing? Currently WorldGrid, for instance, allows for the possibility of Gpu processing but none of the researchers have gone to the trouble of creating any. When use the "add project" menu item in the BOINC manager admin window you will see a number of small icons which indicate what hardware & os applications are available for each project. Bob Smith Member of Seti PIPPS (Pluto is a Planet Protest Society) Somewhere in the (un)known Universe? |

Also having the run out problem here. Is that because people tend to save lots of blocks to go stampede all at the same day for stats? We did lots of those when distributed computing was new. |
