That is a very interesting script output, Hal. Did you cobble that together yourself..... or is there a utility that I am not aware of?

It's one of the scripts I tossed together to check and see how BOINC is doing.
Currently it is just a .bat script, but I'm working to convert most of my scripts into powershell. Since powershell has a lot more functionality.
Maybe after I do that I'll package them all together for download.

Well, I have tried the Preferences flip-flip just about every 5 minutes or so since noon. Nothing has changed and I still can't get work.

I've found changing the preferences and leaving them for 15min+, then changing them back if the initial change doesn't work tends to work best.

. . It's funny how selective it tends to be ... I am having the problem as well...

Out of my four machines, One machine is having the Problem. Project has no tasks available. Right.
So far, I'm able to do the two quick Updates and then five minutes later the Server remembers it actually does have tasks available for that machine.
Another thing that works is to create a couple Ghosts, and then run the Ghost recovery procedure. That also seems to wake up the Server and then 5 minutes later it sends new tasks.

. . After a long period with only one or 2 new tasks the cache was getting very low, so I cannibalised the CPU Q and moved some work behind the GPUs. The next request received over 100 Blc04 tasks. It is strange what will trigger a wake up call on the servers ...

Apparently any change that forces the Server to look at the Preferences is enough to wake it up. Currently the Problem machine has switched to saying, No tasks sent, No tasks are available for AstroPulse v7. It's apparently oblivious to the Preference settings that have All the little boxes checked. They have all been checked for days. For some reason the Server seems to be reading the Preferences wrong, and will continue to read them wrong until something forces it to read them again.

Now All four machines are saying | SETI@home | No tasks are available for AstroPulse v7
I didn't change a thing...and now all four machines are saying | No tasks sent

I had recovered briefly this morning, but now am getting "No tasks sent" "This computer has reached a limit on tasks in progress" Currently down about 25 tasks on each machine for its cache.

Currently getting one task at each request every 2 or 3 request cycles. Going to try Grant suggestion to leave a flipped Preferences in the last state for at least 15 minutes before flipping again.

I just don't know what to do to get the servers to send me work. I got two systems that briefly got back to a full cache. The other system is continuing to fall and not get work. Down to half cache. All systems continue to get the status message that the system has reached the limits of work in progress. I let my Preferences change sit for over 30 minutes before trying to toggle it again. Had no effect.

This is damn frustrating and irritating.

I'm still getting No tasks are available for AstroPulse v7 most of the time. Then after 5 or 6 tries it works and sends dozens of new tasks. The same thing happens over and over again.

. . ATM I have one machine with a full cache getting work on each request and 3 machines getting no new work at all. They either get the message that they have reached the limit or that the project has no new work :( These download servers issues are getting very, very tedious ... :(

. . One of my Linux crunchers ran out of work completely and is getting "Project has no new tasks" so I took the opportunity to install the latest Linux updates. I should have checked what they were. They are Nvidia driver updates, aaarrrgghh! Now every E@H task (that is all am getting) bombs out with a "computational error" :( Beware this update.

Finally got all machines mostly back to full caches. The one machine that wasn't getting work just kept falling. Finally, I set my Preferences to no AP and shut down BOINC completely for 15 minutes. When I started BOINC back up again, I apparently started to get work in fives or sixes from the log. After grocery shopping for a few hours I came back to a filled cache. Don't know whether it was turning off AP or completely shutting down BOINC for a length of time that started work flowing again. Or total circumstance or coincidence. Wonder how long this will last this time?

. . Update - I restarted system to try and get auto-fan-control working and now E@H tasks are running without error.

Was it Jeff's fan control script or the Nvidia update that got you into trouble with Einstein?

Do we have the situation again where there is actually nothing coming out of the BLC splitters? And that is the reason why my Nvidia GPUs are having trouble getting work because nothing but Arecibo VLARs are getting sent by the servers?

Not according to my 3 rigs it isn't. ;-)

Just back - systems were unreachable via Internet for several hours today - at least 5-6 hours, possibly more. Crunchers were running OK, getting and reporting WUs, just no SETI available via web server.
