Oh Oh, it looks like some server trouble is surfacing now. It's the Application preferences issue reoccurring. I've had to flip them back and forth a few times today to keep the work coming. Grant Darwin NT |

I just checked my logs, but there was no sign of any problems here. . .As before it seems the problems are selective in which machines they affect. :( Stephen |

And now the RTS cache is empty ... sigh :( The kitties have sent the usual messages of alarm. Dunno if anybody will get them on this Sunday, and holiday weekend. And, it's only about 7:30AM in Berkeley. I suspect a server or process that everything else relies on has crashed in the background. Probably tying into the master database. Meow. EDIT..... Jeff is up early this morning. Just got word that he is looking into the problem. Double meow! "Time is simply the mechanism that keeps everything from happening all at once." |

And.................. Back underway. Jeff says it was due to an 'informix logical log backup issue'. Hmmm....don't think I ever heard of that one before. Things are recovering quickly. The downtime was very short, due to Jeff's early rising and quick fix. Thank you, Jeff! Meow! "Time is simply the mechanism that keeps everything from happening all at once." |

Thank you Mr. Kitty and Jeff. It's good that I can crunch today, since I won't be of Tuesday. I will be in the hospital undergoing my own maintenance during the seti maintenance. So no cache stuffing for me. |

And..................Wonder if this might have been what happened? Problem: Full logical log files will stop an Informix database |

And for ppl like myself as well. ;-) Thanks guys for the pointers, simple enough, once you know what exactly you're looking for, and where to find it! |

Well I must say that having the servers come back online before midnight UTC (or 10am here) for the 2nd week in a row is nice instead of having it encroach on Beer O'clock. :-) Now if I could just shake this damn flu. :-( Cheers. |

Chicken soup. Liters of it. That, plus sipping whiskey with honey and packets of Butter Menthols (when I havn't been sleeping), but tonight the rum. ;-) Cheers. |

Thread has gone cold. Is anybody else having issues getting work? I have had nothing but "no work is available" across all systems for the entire afternoon, and now into evening. All I get is 1 task every 30 minutes or so on all systems. Do we have stuck splitters again? It's the Application preferences issue reoccurring. Cheers. |

Well, I have tried the Preferences flip-flip just about every 5 minutes or so since noon. Nothing has changed and I still can't get work. Seti@Home classic workunits:20,676 CPU time:74,226 hours A proud member of the OFA (Old Farts Association) |
