On my side of the coin................... That was my quit date. Very good, because I can count the days since I quit by the days of the first month. A very good incentive. One I do not wish to cheat myself out of. One day at a time applies to cigs and booze both. I am getting older, but stronger in some respects. Meow. Well, entering my 3 day weekend and no smokes in sight. 10 days now. And I think I am just stubborn enough not to drive to the gas station to buy any more. Thought I might be feeling some benefits by now, but as luck would have it I have caught a very terrible cold. Feel like complete crap. So I guess I'll just have to see how it's hangin' once I've cleared that virus from my system. My mother gradually tapered off her smoking to about 1 cigarette a day, the last 10 or 15 years of her life. No special way she did it; she just knew she should like anybody, and did it, but clearly even just having one cigarette was something she still craved. The mind is a weird and mysterious place
