Thought of you, Mark, the other day as I renewed our membership in the ASPCA.

It is nearly kitten season, but Eric and I really, really, really have to hold at the five cats we already have.

Thank you for thinking of me, Angela.
And thank you for thinking of all the grranimals that need our help.
I keep making my donations to the Fox Valley Humane Association to support the good work they do to care and rehome the lost ones in my area.

Well, another milestone for the ol' kittyman.
One year ago today, I had my last drink of alcohol. And I honestly am not missing it at all.
Had my annual physical yesterday. And all of my bloodwork numbers had moved significantly in the right directions.
Lipids and cholesterol down, BP down, glucose down. I gained 15lbs. over the last 3 weeks due to a medication I am on, but we cut the dosage to the minimum and I should be able to work that back down again.
The doc was pleased and so was I. He just said 'keep doing what you're doing'. And I intend to.
With one exception.

This is my one year anniversary of being alcohol free. And in honor of that, it shall also be my last day of smoking.
As of tomorrow, this shall be a ciggy-free zone. And I am confident I shall make that stick.

Meow!

Mark,
Congratulations on the 1 Year Anniversary of being sober!

I would of added a fancy cake photo... but a cupcake will have to do so those 15 pounds come off a bit easier.

I know you will conquer the next step of completely quitting smoking, just like you did 1 year ago with the alchohol.

Keep up the good work!

Good to still be going strong here, indeed.
And Dr. Who Fan, the cupcake is just purrrrrrrrrrrrrrfect.

Thanks, James.
The non-smoking thing is doing well.
I have only cheated with a couple of drags on a leftover butt since last Saturday.
And they made me feel crappy, which is a good thing.
I am going to finally get that off of my back as well!

Yes, I know. As I have tried a few times in the past and failed.
But I am doing better these days, and am succeeding at many things which I once failed at.

Well.......................
As much as I'd like to say it's been going purrfectly, I'd be fibbing.
Seems that I make it a day or two and then cannot resist the temptation.
Tough nut to crack, this one is.
But, I've not given up on it or changed my desire to quit.
Going to have another go at it this weekend, in fact.
And thanks for checking up on me.

Meow!
