Well.......
Big weekend coming up for the ol' kittyman.

Last day of cigs today. Then, bye bye butts. I look forward to the healing that shall follow. And the money that I shall not be spending on something so detrimental.

Tomorrow at 10AM, I have oral surgery scheduled to remove another and hopefully last bad tooth. I do not look forward to going through that again. But, it must be dealt with to move forward.

After that, depending on how I am feeling, I can hopefully get my new computer up and running as my new daily driver. This I AM looking forward to. Unless the toothy thingy kicks my butt too much. We shall see.

Meow meow, and meow!

I'm sure the kitties will comfort you if the tooth extraction (followed by the wallet extraction) gives too much pain..

Yes, the wallet extraction follows the physical pain....LOL.

The kitties are very comforting indeed. I may need to spend some time recovering with them.
Or, if things go better than when the first two teeth were pulled, maybe not so much recovering time, but I'll cuddle with them anyway, as always.

And besides that, they are going to be my go-to distraction when I am tempted to think about another ciggy butt.

Meow, kitties!

Staying busy with your hands is the key to getting over no cigs. Building a new rig will ceratainly keep the hands busy and the mind off of smoking.
You will beat the Cigs too.

Uhh....I hit a few buttons in the bios and it's already pretty tweaked.

CPUZ says it's running at 4.5Ghz.............................1.5 vcore.
I think I'm gonna try to knock that voltage back a bit.

Meow.

1.3vcore was a no-go.
Now at 1.38125vcore.

I can just picture it, like a scene from a 1930s horror film. Did all the lights go out, when you first switched it on? Hehehe

Any particular reason you aren't on Boinc 7.8.2?

I stayed with exactly what I had running. Cloned the SSD and installed it in the new rig.

Not at all.
It actually is showing slightly less than 600w on the Killawatt, full bore!

Had a pretty good day today.....

Had an appointment to have my hair dyed again and beard trimmed. Hair all nice and shiny black again. Still luvin' it.
Then had an appointment with the doctor's office just to have my BP checked. 138/84. Not bad at all for me.

After that, I spent the afternoon and evening tweaking on the new computer. After countless reboots and experimentation, I have it pretty well settled down and overclocked. Holding so far.

Ended up with........
4.48Ghz @ 1.38vcore.
RAM @ 1151Mhz, 15/15/15/36/1T timings.
CPU temps running from 36c to 56c, depending on the load. And they drop FAST when the load drops off. The H110i is doing a bangup job!!
The 1080ti GPUs are at a little over 2Ghz. Top card is running around 74c, bottom card around 54c. I have some better 140mm case fans coming to improve air flow through the case and that should drop those temps a bit more.
And the Killawatt is showing around 600w usage peak.

It was down as much as it was up today with all the playing around in the bios.
It's RAC should start to improve nicely now, although there are still a lot of bios settings I will be looking at and tweaking here and there. I had almost forgotten how much FUN building a computer can be, as this was my first in about 8 years.

I will try to post some pics for you tomorrow.

Meowmeowmeow!!!

OK, time for the piccys of my new build that some have been waiting for.
It is happily crunching away, and I am posting this from it, as it is my new daily driver.

First, the lonely empty case.............

Then, I start to add the magic ingredients.........

But the sockets still look like something's missing...............

This is starting to look much better................

Now it's ready for it's first boot........

And it's the first rig I am running with the side on.......LOL. Nice window in the side at least.

So, that's about it.
About the neatest rig I ever put together.
Have some fan upgrades coming, as well as a RAM upgrade.
But they won't change the looks much.

Meowmeowmeow!!
