Message 1887438 - Posted: 2 Sep 2017, 2:09:44 UTC - in response to Message 1887434.

With all those color changes aren't you concerned about split ends?

Well, a small part of the reason I am going to take it to the other end of the spectrum is that dyeing does not do a lot of damage.
Compared with trying to stay blonde and having to bleach the roots all the time.
It's the bleaching that is really hard on the hair.
So, staying with black will allow my hair to recover and grow in thicker.
Besides, it's JJ's color..............................and that's the look I'm going for now. So call me crazy.
When it gets long enough, I'll switch from taking it off to the side to bringing it forward with bangs.
Dunno how close I'll get to her look, but I'm gonna have fun trying................................

I guess the way I look at it.................
I turned 60yo in January. Certainly able and entitled to do 'bout anything I wish to.
And besides, nobody would peg me as being 60. Most guesses I get are about 20 years less than that.
Mother nature has been good to me.
So if I want to bleach my hair blonde or dye it black, who's to tell me I can't?
And it's certainly cheaper and less destructive than going on a whiskey bender every weekend for kicks.
If I get some enjoyment from coloring my hair, why shouldn't I?
Besides, it's only as permanent as I wish to make it.
Not like going off on a bender and waking up with a tat.

Go for it, Mark. Great picture, btw!

Thank you! Already have the appointment scheduled. Next Friday at 11:00AM. I am actually very much looking forward to it. I am sure I'll get some looks at work the following Monday.............LOL. That's part of the fun too.
And the thing is...........it's just jet black. Only people that already know me would raise an eyebrow.

I do still clean up pretty well for my age, eh?

I see that you have also trimmed the beard somewhat from a while ago. And yes it is good to see you smiling :-))

Nice pic, thanks for sharing.

Thanks, Chris.
It's good to be smiling more than I used to.
It really is.
I am just enjoying life a lot more lately than I have for many many years.

I'll post another pic after next Friday's salon appointment.
I'm sure I shall be smiling in that one too...............LOL.

Meow meow meow!!

Been up for 22 hours now. Time for the ol' kittyman to try to get some sleepytime.

Meow for now....................................

And the other good news is that my blood pressure has been good.
Last check was about 136/85. Which is very good compared to my usually high readings.

Well, before the meds kicked in this morning..............
Went and topped off the tank in Toothless. Regular is $2.47 this morning, up from around $2.25. Not too bad.
And meeeeeeeeeeeow! The power steering is working real sweet since the pump and fluid change. Smooth as silk and quiet. No more pump noise or heavy steering effort.
Then I stopped in at Piggly Wiggly and got some Boost protein drink so I can get some nourishment past my gums into MY tank.
And just for the heck of it, 5 Powerball tickets for tonight's drawing. Wish me luck.
Took a short stroll around the back yard to check on the new ligularia. Lookin' good so far.

As to the rest of the day.........
Here on Seti and probably lots of catnaps with the kitties.
Rain coming, and I can't mow the lawn or work on the car per the dentist's orders.
So I shall just be lazily meowing along.

Meow.

That sounds like a very good day.
I also like it when it rains, so I don't have to mow the lawn. On the other hand, in less than a month my 8 wheel toy will be here, and regardless of what the weather is, my 5 acre lawn is toast. :D

I started putting a bowl of kibble on my front porch a few nights ago along with my kittycam (trail camera).
One night I had a visit from the neighbors cat. One of those that they just let run. He wears a collar and tags and has been around before.
Last night I had a visit from another cat that I had not seen before. Don't think it was a true feral, because he looked pretty well fed. And was enjoying my kitty banquet as well.
And about an hour before that, I had a big fat mouse scampering around and sampling the kibbles. It better not show up at the same time as one of the cats. I think the cat would choose the sport of trying to get the mouse instead of the bowl of kibble. Nothing like live prey to get a kitty going!

Well........sometimes things have greater rewards than they themselves present.

I just got off the phone after a nice long conversation with my Mom.
She had heard through my brother Greg that I was not drinking.
But we had not talked about it with each other directly, we usually play a lot of phone tag.

After talking about it with her, I could tell how overjoyed she was in her voice.
My Mom is a recovering alcoholic.
And then.......................she said something that made it all worth it.

"Thank you so much, Mark. I am very proud of you and happy for you. I have been praying for this day for 37 years."

37 years is how long SHE has been sober.
And nothing could have meant more to me than making my Mom that happy.
That felt so good, I cannot quite express it.

Meow.

Hmmm....
Laid down to cuddle with the kitties and finally fell asleep for 4 hours.
That was good. Think I'll try that again.
Gums are feeling much improved as well.

Meow!

Oh my, but the kittycam was busy last night.
I had 2 cats visit the kibble bowl, one kitten, and a possum!!
Neither of the 2 cats was the neighbor's from the night before.
Turning into a regular kitty cafe!

Meowlol.

As a certain person once said " if you feed them, they will come".

LOL....should be interesting, as it's only been a few nights that I have put it out.
Once the word gets around................
What is interesting is that I have never seen any of these rascals around the house before.
They are creatures of the night, but I get home from work after midnight all the time and I'd think that I would have seen them lurking about before they dashed off.

Hmmmmm.
Seems that I had a kitty visitor this afternoon when I was not looking.
I have the front door open to let the sunshine in, and when I walked up to it and looked at the kibble bowl on the porch it seemed that some was missing.
Sure enough, I checked out the kittycam and it was the black kitty from the house behind me on the next block.
Wish I had walked up to the door when she was there. Dunno if she would spook right away or just keep nibbling.
I'll find out sooner or later.

Meowkittykitty.

A little jousting going on last night on the kittycam.
Light colored kitty was nibbling, and the black neighbor's cat came up.
Some sniffing and batting of paws, and then the two raced off into the front yard.
I have seen these two giving chase to each other in my back yard before.
