Nothing has changed here, the Doctors Office has not called, yet, I'm still taking My pills, so I'm in Medi-Cal/IEHP limbo for the moment, though a friend did finally call Me, but She said I should not be taking any Tylenol, yet My Doctor is ok with that. Sigh. I did get a letter from SCE on the Medical Baseline Program(a 15% discount on My electric and natural gas usage), now I just need to fax it, probably on Monday when the Office opens, since I have no way of faxing anything. A lot of health-related posts in here. I wish everyone well. I know it's crazy, but I haven't seen a doctor since my pediatrician. I get my teeth cleaned every 6 months, and the dentist takes my blood pressure, so that's extent of my physical exam. ![]() |

Ugh. I feel just ok, barely. Grace is happy, but then She's able to take a nap, Me? I tried for 8 mins, not happening. I find it amazing that Kellog Frosted Flakes, has less calories @ 110, than what Post Honey Bunches of Oats cereal I'd been eating has @ 130... Vic I suspect the oats are better for you than the flakes What size?!! Holy moly, that's incredible. I've never seen a box that big in the grocery store. Speaking of Cinnamon, my mother loves Cinnamon Life cereal. ![]() |

Vic, having read what you've posted in Number Crunching about your health I have a few observations. First is I would guess that the IV drug you were given was "Tramadol", a very effective "first aid" drug for most intense pains, without the massive addiction problems associated with morphine. I'm not surprised you didn't catch the name if you were in the sort of pain I've been in with my kidneys - I would describe it as being kicked in the back by an angry mule, who then really looses it... Next, the hernia where you stomach is protruding above your diaphragm, this may well go some way to explaining your shortness of breath and will not be overly popular with any anesthetist who has to put you out as it presents all sorts of risks... Did any of the docs show you the CT or US scans? - If so, using your fist as representing the size of your kidney how big were the lumps?? (The size can give an indication to the nature of the lumps, generally the smaller the less likely they are to be cancerous.) From the sound of it these lumps are tumours, but without a biopsy determining their nature is difficult unless they grow at a massive rate between two scans in a short period of time, in which case they are almost certainly cancerous (renal cancer is the generic name for any cancer in the kidney, as with almost every "organ specific" cancer there are several types). Things you can do to help - first, increase the amount of fibre in your diet, wheat based cereals are much lower in fibre than oat based - this will help increase the speed at which food passes through your stomach and gut, so reducing the pressure on your diaphragm. Eat more veg, particularly green stuff, including peas and green beans, (I join with you in saying "Yuk"), but they all help with your digestion, and so help reduce the pressure from your stomach on your diaphragm. Finally try to limit your intake of pain killers, long term, or high doses of Tylenol are not too good for either your liver or kidneys - you don't want to add liver problems to those you've already got... So, today you now have three priorities - your health, your health, your health. Bob Smith Member of Seti PIPPS (Pluto is a Planet Protest Society) Somewhere in the (un)known Universe? |

Vic, having read what you've posted in Number Crunching about your health I have a few observations. Is this Tramadol something one would get if one were driving home? I was told they couldn't give Me anything that would impair My driving ability. No such luck, just said one was bigger, plus which side the bigger one was on, I had a CT scan in the ER(Emergency Room). I actually like carrots, peas, corn, and green beans, I've got a freezer almost chock full of those, in 12oz microwavable packets, 6.5 mins cook time. I try to take only 2 pills a day, an extra 2 if needed, they are also a fever reducer too, I took a nap woke up in a sweat, could be the sofa/recliner, since there is no fan there. One day I did spot some clouded urine indicating an infection, maybe, that's when I stopped taking the naproxen sodium pills, since they suppress the immune system. I have not seen any clouded urine since then. The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's ![]() |

I just had dinner, 12oz of veggies, 6 fishsticks and pepper, without the fan I sweating like mad. I found out the Peloton exercise bike as seen on TV, has a weight limit of 305lbs, so I won't be getting one thru IEHP, I'd just break it. Oh and the Doc did say My stomach hernia is a small hernia, it's been there since I was a kid, I've had trouble since I was 3 in this. Pioneer Cabin (Tunnel) Tree in California felled by storms That is sad. I always wanted to go through it if I ever got out West someday. Is there another one like it out there? ![]() |

Pioneer Cabin (Tunnel) Tree in California felled by storms Possibly in Yosemite National Park here in California, I don't know if one can drive thru that tree anymore, but if it exits, that's where you'd find it. The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's ![]() |
