I'm wondering why the various space agencies have not begun building and launching large aerogel sponges into the most cluttered areas of near earth orbits to trap and eventually remove small pieces of space junk before it becomes too late. The research has been done and all indications are that such a system will work. http://swfound.org/media/99938/hirayama-passive_adr.pdf http://www.hindawi.com/journals/amse/2013/484153/ Bob DeWoody My motto: Never do today what you can put off until tomorrow as it may not be required.
