The big question is how long the outage will last :( . . I heard that someone named Trevor got the job of trying to sort it out yesterday (but that could be a furphy) . |

I'm a bit concerned...some of my critters will run out of food quite soon... :-( . . Just keep trying, there is a trickle of work coming through in small bursts. |

the problem seems to be still there; now is more than 24 hours that i must check my crunchers... are them figuring out on what to do? wake up those splitters!! California time is UTC-7 (I think) so it's ~8:30 monday morning for the S@h staff and almost the beginning of a new UC-Berkeley semester. After a few convos to discuss the weekend and the current issue, I am fairly confident they will find at least a partial solution before the end of office hours. Hopefully all is running as before, before Tuesday's scheduled maintenance. Keep in mind there are now other very minor issues that could be the indication of something stranger: 1. Beta project also ran out of work well before S@h main; 2. Server status update page hasn't been updated since: 21 Aug 2016, 17:10:06 UTC Cheers, RobG :-) |

@all Windows 7-10 power users: If you are concerned about running out of work today and you know how to do a batch script (.cmd), here's a quick and sloppy way: @echo off cls echo. boinccmd --project setiathome.berkeley.edu update "C:\Program Files\BOINC\boinccmd" --project setiathome.berkeley.edu update rem Wait 5.5mins by using Ping command echo. wait 5.5mins PING -n 330 127.0.0.1>nul echo. boinccmd --project setiathome.berkeley.edu update "C:\Program Files\BOINC\boinccmd" --project setiathome.berkeley.edu update rem Wait 5.5mins by using Ping command echo. wait 5.5mins PING -n 330 127.0.0.1>nul Enjoy...but please don't abuse the server with it. I'm just sharing this with the intent to have it used (and modified) for the current trickle of nonVLARs for power rigs that are currently running dry on tasks ...in the spirit of: "Keep Calm and Cheers, RobG :-D |

still no wus ... did they remember that the wow event is right now? Hey BlindaTRON! If: 1. you have any tasks left on CPU or GPU queues; and 2. are using linux or Windows 7 to 10 then try Mr Kevvy's prog (that canadian in 3 position behind Freezing) If you use Windows 7 to 10, there also a front-end batch-file-type script (.cmd) that I wrote (available in same thread) to automate everything around Mr. K's prog. [edit]Mr K's prog sends Guppi to CPU, and nonVLARs to GPU so only use it immediately if you want some of those task types to be move to the device where they are better processed than the other task type. If for some weird reason, you only have left: 1. nonVLARs on GPU queue, or 2. guppi on CPU queue, his prog won't do you any good right now.[/e] |

still no wus ... did they remember that the wow event is right now? . . Keep calm and enjoy the ride .... . . There are small numbers of Arecibo work trickling through, leave your netork active and try Stubbles script. Even if it only half fills your cache it will keep you going a while longer. . |

. . At the moment there is a complete dearth of Guppis, so it is very likely he may have only nonVLARs left on his system/s. . |

Jeff Buck just posted the following in another thread If any of you hungering for guppis happen to have any recent "lost" or "ghost" tasks in your task lists, you might have some guppis there and there's always the "report the same task twice trick" available to retrieve them.... The trick doesn't apply to just Guppis. Hope all these little bits help...while the Arecibo tasks slowly trickle through. Good luck! RobG [edit]PS: OMG, I just realized the trick ...on power rigs who currently starve, like Al's LotzaCores[/e] |

. . At the moment there is a complete dearth of Guppis, so it is very likely he may have only nonVLARs left on his system/s. Actually, Guppis started flowing again about 25 minutes ago.
