Just gone back to reading The Gap Series - Stephen Donaldson, again. Just to see if I can follow all the twists and turns, but I doubt it. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Gap_Cycle |

God and the Afterlife, by Jeffrey Long, M.D.. His practice has had him in contact with many people who have had near death experiences, and there are some striking similarities between many of them. "Time is simply the mechanism that keeps everything from happening all at once." |

God and the Afterlife, by Jeffrey Long, M.D.. I have no doubt that cerebral hypoxia can cause some interesting hallucinations and that some parallels in the experiences of people who have had anoxic incidents can be found. The question of an afterlife remains one of faith. |

God and the Afterlife, by Jeffrey Long, M.D.. Well, my dear Angela... I happen to be a man of faith. And faith may just be the ticket one needs to get one where they are going. But, I am also a man of science. Hence my participation in this project. And, I do not feel that the two need be mutually exclusive. Because I always wonder, if God created US, what else or who else may he have created elsewhere in the universe? And that is why I joined the search here. I have not read the book yet, but the subject matter and some online interviews with the author interested me enough to purchase a copy. But, to paraphrase a line from an old Blood Sweat and Tears song...... I'll never know by livin', only my dyin' will tell. "Time is simply the mechanism that keeps everything from happening all at once." |

In his book "A farewell to arms" Ernest Hemingway describes what happened to him after he was hit by a grenade on the Isonzo front in the First World War. This experience was probably what led him to suicide. Tullio |

Well in the lull of the summer I am re-reading "Stupid White Men" by Michael Moore. I seems a fitting epitaph to a once great nation. |

"Stupid White Men" by Michael Moore. Well I finished the book. This time around I have come to the realization that I was wrong about who the Stupid White Men were that Moore was writing about. edit: Very sobering indeed. I guess 'old farts' can still learn eh? |

The folly of an Iranian in Germany has reminded me of a book written about Jesus by an Iranian refugee in the USA, Reza Aslan. The title of the book is "Zealot. The life and times of Jesus of Nazareth", Random House, 2013. He sees Jesus simply as a rebel to the Roman empire, which tried and executed Him. I reviewed this book on the monthly magazine of my parish, which was soon closed, I wonder why. Tullio |
