The Seti@Home and the Astropulse projects will stay focused on astronomy. There will be other projects of other types for BOINC though. The other projects will have little effect on seti, since most of the improvements in BOINC are/were needed anyway. In my opinion the BOINC news has been kept up better than the original site ever was. If you check the checkin notes at http://boinc.berkeley.edu/cgi-bin/cvsweb.cgi/ you can get news updates even quicker.

"(note that I have cable modem top speed connection and the fastest PC's around...)"
_______________

Are your fast PCs not registered yet? Because the ones you have listed are far from "the fastest PC's around".

Did I ever say anything about expertise? Simply that you were bragging about having the fastest computers around, but listed dinosaurs...

No you didn't. Which is why I asked, oh ye of superior intelligence.

Speaking of front-ends, if you'd taken the time to look at the front-end of the site you would have read what was happening. Give the devs a break, most of them volunteered to help in this project, setting up the servers and the whole front-end, middle and back-end.

If you want to be informed on a daily basis, come back when it's all working. Leave the people trying to get it all to work reliably to do their jobs. If they'd say that things were up on the front page, then two minutes later something broke down, they'd have everyone over them again saying that they were informed wrong and that the project is shit.

So please come back later.

Wow HP! So were you intending to post some sort of reply to my post, or simply decided to re-quote it and post that instead for some reason that my insignificant brain can't fathom?

Expertise in action here...

My comments on superior intelligence were based on this:

"Dear Mr. Heffed I surely don't have youre expertise (ha,ha) with your approximately 2800 and a couple of classical workunits...

Let me laugh... (newbies too must have their place under the sun...) I am running Seti at Home Classic and gathered 47000 WU since I started with a humble machine way back in 1999."

This seems to intimate that you feel you are a greater being than I. If you are not trying to "feel" superior, why the bragging and condescending attitude?

-Sigh-

Yes, you are indeed an impressive human being. I know that's what you desire to hear. (Just stating the bare facts ;-) )
