24 Nov 2020.
New head of ICC appointed.
Statement made by him:
"I look forward to working in partnership with our Members to strengthen the game in our core markets as well as grow it beyond that ensuring more of the world can enjoy cricket. I take my position as a custodian of the game very seriously and am committed to working on behalf of all 104 ICC Members to create a sustainable future for our sport.
Statment made last week:
He does not see women's Test cricket as "part of the landscape moving forward".
Well, what more can one expect from a commercial lawyer. Profits 1st.

3 hours of rain, then 1 hour of play.
JB got the 6 remaining runs needed with a cracking 6.
Looking forward to Friday when we play the rescheduled delayed test with India.
Hope we get some more "bazball" cricket. :-)

Sadly, as everything else in life, all good things must end
I do love this quote though. :-)
The Irishman dragged England's limited-overs cricket from bland black and white into glorious technicolour.
Is Brendon McCullum going to do the same with the test team?

Close of play on day 1 of the delayed 5th against India. An indian viewer had this to say.
Have we not learned how Baz-ball works? England concede a big number of runs. They collapse in the second innings, take quick wickets in the third and gallop home three down in the fourth innings. Easy.
It seems "bazball" has a flaw. Can't cope with the mid-order.
Against NZ it was Mitchell & Blundell.
Looking like Pant & Jadeja for India. Another viewer recalls history.
Nelson strikes again. Pant's innings lasted 111 balls and the partnership 222 runs.

As Tuffers says, you gotta love Test Cricket.

Not looking good atm.
Currently 255-8.
Have noticed over the past several tests, our top order failing to hit double figures. :-(

Another great day.
Either side has much to play for tomorrow.
England need 119 to win with 7 wickets remaining.
India need to stop them.

Read a report approx. an hour ago.
Oops, that can't be right, so left it & checked back now.
Still the same, so...
...either the BBC is insulting my intelligence or I'm suffering from dementia.
Question:
If only 8 teams in a competition, what is the total of games played by each team if they only play each once?
According to the BBC it is:
Men 8
Women 6.
Sheesh.
Huh?

I think the women were diverted by a side-hustle called the Commonwealth Games, and started late.So they arbitrarily cut the women's tournament short, so that the men and the women finish at the same time. Or something like that. It's bonkers, but then, cricket is a bonkers game anyway.

Okay, for the women.
The men though?

Who was the "ghost" team?
