You're saying those are all wrong, aren't you?

edit: d you said?

discintoraie - as in diarrhoea

dictanoisier - loud disapproving sniff *improvise one for demonstration purposes, at Admiral*

doistaincier - one who lobs dirty looks from afar.

Better? :)

The middle word started to go somewhere. Then the spelling went wonky. Going to have to pm David to get in on this word.

I'm here, more or less (mostly less lately).

I'm guessing, or maybe even assuming, the DICTA part is what looks good and the rest needs work. I'll give it a think.

dictionisear - Marketed as a means to discreetly blend into your immediate social surroundings, the dictionisear is a programmable 18 inch long electronic device that alters diction when one end is placed against the larynx.

Far from being discreet, the devices caused mayhem and the manufacturers went into receivership soon after the first court case

I think I've got it, but she's so close I'll let her give it another think.

"stare at dictionarise"

To converse in a foreign language by speaking your own language more slowly, and much much louder. To put something in a dictionary, reference to a dictionary, spell cast at Hogwarts during English lessons? To register for elocution lessons... give up mumbling for lent... erm...

Any of that do?

"stare at dictionarise and begin to loathe it"

She's close but still far away.

There is no far away far enough away, Admiral. No

So not dictionaries but... *slow lingering glaaaaaaaaaaare*

Dictionaries? Dictionaries?!

"stare at dictionaries and begin to loathe it"

Do you know how I got that? Spellcheck. Yes. Spellcheck people. Autocorrected on sight, but not when I first typed it up there. No.

Apologies for any implied rudeness, people... but as this is your next jumbled word:

mounted dunce

you'd best just deal with it and move on.

Clues:
There are two spaces. One either side so that the other can be opposite, and that one that was. Or, to put it another way, one to define where to put your eyes when you start rolling them, and another to define where to put them back in your head because you've run out of letters to roll them along. We can call that the end for the sake of having an argument.

I'll repeat that one more time.

Two.

That's just one clue. To justify using the word clues, the other clue is that the jumble has no letters in the correct position. Not one. And one too many spaces jointly as a whole, making two when dealt with separately because by then you have four.

:)

edit: You're welcome!

In reverse order...

MedocUnturned : 6 correct. One is a group of a third and the other is double that

ConedUnmuted : 4 correct. One is by itself, The others are not. Two-thirds of the letters here are the same as a group above, but the other represents just a quarter of the one that was double.

DenouncedTum : 3 correct. None together. Only one new, one is the same as in one of your words, and the other is the same as one in the other.

:)

edit: removed some ambiguity. Improved clarity

I'm so glad you found it :) It had temporarily fallen out of my head you see and until you reminded me that that was what had, I didn't know it was :)

So, yes... you are correct. Well done! :)

*peruse David's attempts* I love gubordhorses! I don't think it's what the Admiral is looking for though because one of these...

Shoedogrub - larval form of the cobbler beetle, so named for its attraction to the cheesy fragrance that emanates from the human foot when enclosed in closed-toe footwear

Sogbedhour - *distant gaze to close horizon* erm... leakage indiscretions.

Roughbosed - derivative of the urban slang "to bose someone" (ie: shut them out of your head by putting headphones in your ears mid monologue) roughbosed is a means of improvising with whatever comes readily to hand when caught without headphones. According to hospital casualty figures, people have resorted to carrot sticks, shoedogrubs and strips of their own, and even the orator's clothing

...is ... or are.

There we go :)
