Tonight's dinner: Mixed veggies(carrots, corn, green peas and beans), pepper and 6 fish sticks, the 6 fish sticks are 40 calories less than 2 fish fillets, both are a single serving and are Gortons products, no ketchup is added as I didn't buy any ketchup. 6 mins for the veggies and 2 mins for the sticks, half the veggies are saved for the next night and the heating time is 2.5 mins total with 6 fish sticks, cooking is done in the 900w Whirlpool microwave oven here. Do you like tartar sauce, Vic? I like that better than ketchup on my fish sticks. Sometimes I put malt vinegar on my fish, too. The mind is a weird and mysterious place |

I don't have any tartar sauce, I like both, as to better than ketchup, neither is better to Me. Both provide extra calories, mustard would be better in that case, no I've not tried that, though yellow mustard has zero calories. Savoir-Faire is everywhere! I keep forgetting about the lemons, wait one second I'll go out and pick some, oops there arn't any here and the soil and climate is not right, that takes care of the lemon juice. Grocery Store: Stater Bros Market(exists only in Southern California) Food4Less(owned by Kroger) Vons(owned by Safeway) Walmart 99cent Store(no ecv's here, unlike everyone else) I currently go to shop at stores in this order: Food4Less, Staters, and Vons. At Food4Less if I have at least 100 reward points I can buy gasoline that is discounted $0.10 a gallon at Fuel4Less. If gasoline is $3.479 per gallon, after the discount the price is $3.379 a gallon. $3.479 is the current price for 87 octane/Regular gasoline in Barstow CA. Savoir-Faire is everywhere! I made a pot of homemade chili that tasted better than any other chili I've made previously. When I make chili I buy certain ingredients, but I don't pay much attention to who makes the product or exactly what's in the can. This time I used light red kidney beans instead of dark red (four cans), Great Value brand. (I always drain the beans before I use them in the chili.) Instead of "Mexican style" stewed tomatoes I used Great Value brand (Walmart) fire roasted diced tomatoes with seasonings (three cans). I used the Great Value brand mild chili seasoning packet - two packets. And I used lean ground beef (85/15 or 90/10, I forget). I don't drain the fat off of the meat. This amount of chili feeds me for several days. Usually I'll get tired of the chili after a few days and some will end up going in the trash, but not this time. It's just real good! (I added salt - more than what's healthy!) I make big pots of chili and other things when I start to run out of money! ~Sue~ |

Excellent video, Admiral! As you know, the Scotch egg is one of my favorite things in life, but I've never made one at home. I prefer a harder boil than his, though. His method of peeling the egg reminds me of a device called an Eggstractor I bought many moons ago and demonstrated here - How to peel an egg, part 1 How to peel an egg, part 2 The mind is a weird and mysterious place |

About a month back some local friends needed to go to Victorville, We needed a break from the driving and ended up at a restaurant on Bear Valley Rd after the business was done, one of My friends had Sushi, said I could have a few, I had ordered a bowl of fried salmon and rice, so I had2 pieces of sushi. Though I did not have any wasabi or Japanese horseradish that is the green paste, I just had two rolls like the ones with the orange center, the rest in the pic is not what He had. I tried sushi a long time ago, back around 1996, and I didn't care for it, and have never tried it again. The mind is a weird and mysterious place |

Yummie:) I see shrimps, tuna, salmon, fish roe, and some other white fish . Some of them wrapped in Nori. Served with pickled ginger, sliced leek and some wasabi. Missing sesame seeds though. |

Usually I'll get tired of the chili after a few days Ya know, I've done that -- frozen containers of left over chili. Then I end up ignoring them for a very long time and then throwing them away. :-( ~Sue~ |
