The food served here is not really my cup of tea, but sounds like an interesting place: https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2018/06/18/koks-the-worlds-most-remote-foodie-destination The mind is a weird and mysterious place |

Those little White Castle style burgers are very creative. They'd be good for Halloween! The mind is a weird and mysterious place |

I was just watching some food show where they were at a winery that the vintner and chef was cooking with the dregs or fermented sediment from wine casks. He was spreading it like jam on toast. It was funny, but apparently pretty good - the host of the show thought it was great. Never heard of such a thing, but it's a big wild world of food. The mind is a weird and mysterious place |

If you are rich enough you can poach fresh peach halves in a whole bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon. Then reduce the wine until it forms a thick sauce and pour over the preaches. A little whipped cream on top makes a dessert to die for. |

Though winter is far away here in Tennessee, I got the urge to roast some vegetables for Sunday dinner. Since my herb garden has done really well in my new house I snipped some lavender, thyme and rosemary. I just cubed some golden potatoes and a nice firm eggplant and tossed them in a good olive oil. Salt and pepper and the herbs and then into a convection oven for about 1 hour at 375 degrees f. Very fragrant and good to eat as well. |

That sounds pretty good. I think Julia Child used to say you should always cook with good wine - wine you would drink by itself. The mind is a weird and mysterious place |

Birch Tree, Leaf Salad..? Are Birch Leaves Edible? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oFyZV9EuppI Funny. I didn't know that birch was growing in the US. Here around the Baltic Sea we have a lot of them. We drink birch sap, when in famines the stuff between the bark and the wood is mixed in bread. However eating the leaves... Normally only used to whip yourself when having a sauna... But why not:) |

I planted a white paper birch in the front yard a couple years ago, and it is doing very nicely. The mind is a weird and mysterious place |

Yes. I have seen the pic of theme from your garden. It looks like you actually planted 3 birches. Looks to me that they are planted to close to another. But you need to give them water. A LOT of water. Here we don't need to plant birches:) |

That is how the nursery sells them. I kind of assumed it was one tree with three trunks, but you may be right. Yes, I was told birches are thirsty. Luckily, we've had a lot of rain this year, and I haven't had to water them manually. The mind is a weird and mysterious place |

On Monday afternoon, the long-awaited message was that it was once again allowed to BBQ on your own backyard. Marcus was quick to get dressed up for the occasion and dressed in tuxedo. The evening's menu consisted of, among other things, beef steak, entrecote and sausage, along with champagne. "Now we will celebrate," he told SVT News Blekinge. |
