Best guess is shredded beef with chopped peppers and spices. Melted cheddar cheese on top. Served with a side of guacamole. Needs other stuff like fajita sized tortillas and salsa. Many things are better with sour cream even if it is evil. |

Looks like hash browns with some veggies and eggs, with cheese on top, and I don't want to contemplate the green stuff. Many things are better with sour cream even if it is evil. True. Eeeeouwwwwww! stink flipper: A traditional delicacy of native Alaskans,is stink flipper, or stink meat—walrus flippers which have been buried in the sand and left to marinate in their own juices for a number of months, after which it is dug up and thoroughly cooked and consumed. Featured in an episode of Flying Wild Alaska on the Discovery Channel. Personally I agree with the dad on this one. It is botchalism waiting to get you. He wouldn't touch it. |

Melted cheddar cheese on top. Of course it does. A biog blob of orange that oozed all over and then congealed again. David Sitting on my butt while others boldly go, Waiting for a message from a small furry creature from Alpha Centauri. |

Machaca: Shredded beef with sautéed onions, tomatoes, jalapeños, eggs & melted cheddar cheese I think I was pretty close with my assessment. |

Melted cheddar cheese on top. Must have been thinking of some other cheese. Cheddar cheese is orange as you say. |

Must have been thinking of some other cheese. Not naturally. Here in the states we "think" that cheddar should be orange (just like we think that butter should be very yellow), so manufacturers color these dairy products with annatto. We used to think that pistachios should be bright red. I am happy to see that fad has gone out of style here and that natural pistachios are all you see in the grocery store these days. |

Sitting here looking at a lump of REAL cheddar, from the village of Cheddar. It certainly is NOT orange, unlike the highly coloured material that is sold as Cheddar in much of the USA. The core is an off-white, darkening slightly to the outside. And the flavour while strong has some creaminess, and a slight nutty hint in the after-taste. This lump will not last very long..... I think I might stop buying margarine and similar type spreads. It's kind of weird how they don't completely melt on my toast. The mind is a weird and mysterious place |

Must have been thinking of some other cheese. Hmmm. Looks like different countries have their own opinion how food should look like:) Cheddar, England A firm, cow's milk cheese that ranges in flavor from mild to sharp and in color from a natural white to pumpkin orange. Orange cheddars are colored with annatto, a natural dye. Pistachios. The shell of the pistachio is naturally a beige color, but it is sometimes dyed red or green in commercial pistachios. Originally, dye was applied by importers to hide stains on the shells caused when the seeds were picked by hand. Most pistachios are now picked by machine and the shells remain unstained, making dyeing unnecessary except to meet ingrained consumer expectations. Roasted pistachio seeds can be artificially turned red if they are marinated prior to roasting in a salt and strawberry marinade, or salt and citrus salt And salmon meat fished in the Baltic Sea is white not pink. |

I was doing some grocery shopping yesterday and I swear there was something that made me think of this group/thread. I wanted to post something about it, too. But I don't have any idea what it was. So I'm basically here to say, I have nothing to say. ~Sue~ |

I just ordered walnuts, pecans, and Brazil nuts, all in their shells, and wanted to get cashews in the shell, too, but you can't. Cashews are weird nuts that have a toxic coating and need special handling, so you can only buy them already unshelled. The mind is a weird and mysterious place |
