Not for me Sometimes it is best not knowing what you are eating. But I'm NOT Andrew and his bizarre foods. |

Not for me It was once said that Cal Worthington would eat a bug, but then He rode on the back of a Tiger once in one of His many commercials, He sold cars for a living, so yeah it was a stunt. Savoir-Faire is everywhere! The T1 Trust, T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, America's First HST |

Who did traditional things for Thanksgiving dinner and who did something different? (I was invited to two traditional dinners. One was too far to travel considering the weather. I was too tired to get out of bed on time to get to the other.) ~Sue~ |

Who did traditional things for Thanksgiving dinner and who did something I did traditional the easy way. On-Cor sliced turkey and gravy (waaaaay too salty), powdered mashed potatoes, jellied cranberry sauce. But I made my own stuffing. Can't say I did a good job of it, though. I made cornbread from scratch, but overcooked it. Not severely, but it had hard edges that I refused to discard and put into the stuffing. Then I either didn't put enough broth on the stuffing before I baked it, or I baked it too long, or both. Anyway, it came out dry. I can add broth to the leftovers, though. And reheat it in butter. Turkey, mash potatoes, mash sweet potatoes, turkey gravy with chopped giblets, green beans, corn, stuffing and jellied cranberry sauce. Had pumpkin, pecan and cherry pies waiting for latter when there was some room in the belly. Cool whip was optional. |

I didn't have any pecan or cherry pie, but I did have pumpkin, apple pie and vanilla ice cream. Plus I had the rest you mentioned and I brought home seconds too, oh and I didn't have any giblets or any dark meat. Plus I have more jellied cranberry cans and now milk, so I can have some mashed potatoes. Savoir-Faire is everywhere! The T1 Trust, T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, America's First HST |

Friends, the most important part, Roasted turkey, creamy gravy, stuffing, mashed potatoes, mustard potato salad, brussel sprouts, cranberry chutney sauce, jellied cranberry sauce, or course desert pumpkin pie, apple pie, whipped cream and vanilla ice cream, and various beverages to imbibe, some intoxicating. |

For my mother and myself I cooked a turkey, and we had sides of fresh green beans, mashed potatoes, Stove Top stuffing, and sliceable cranberry sauce(I could eat a whole can of that stuff!). Pumpkin ice cream for dessert. The mind is a weird and mysterious place |

My Dinner tonight and for a few nights to come, the spuds were heated on the stove, and except for the cranberries, everything else was nuked, didn't take long either, I heated the veggies in the same pan of course and I added the margarine afterwards to the spuds only. BTW, for my cornbread, I bought new flour, sugar, and corn meal, and ditched what I had. I also ditched my open container of baking powder and opened the new one I bought a while ago. Its expiration date was about a year and a half ago, but it still worked fine. I can't even remember the last time I used any of this stuff. I think I may have made cornbread last Thanksgiving, or I might have bought it. I didn't buy new salt, but I'll probably have to soon; it's almost empty (although I usually use way less than the recipe says). I should check the soda too. And I need a new bottle of canola oil. We enjoyed a traditional mid-western Thanksgiving with Eric's parents. I only know of one family who does something different for Thanksgiving. I worked with a child several years ago whose parents both hated turkey. They told me that they always have spaghetti carbonara for Thanksgiving. Now, whenever I have spaghetti carbonara, I remember that little guy and his lovely family. |

What? No ham? ;) Hold And Modify I have some here, positively delicious, the last one lasted 5 days, I should get the same results out of the next and final one. I also won some scented candles a day or so before Thanksgiving, it was a raffle. Savoir-Faire is everywhere! The T1 Trust, T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, America's First HST |

We enjoyed a traditional mid-western Thanksgiving with Eric's parents. As someone who tolerates turkey once a year I think you may have provided a solution - thanks Angela :-) Bob Smith Member of Seti PIPPS (Pluto is a Planet Protest Society) Somewhere in the (un)known Universe? |

The Japanese are nuts. There are many dishes with gold in the dish. Hamburgers? Of course:) http://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/food-and-drink/news/chelsea-restaurant-creates-worlds-most-expensive-burger-with-gold-leaf-and-caviar-9778782.html |

So much for McDonald's "all day breakfast": I tried to order two sausage biscuits at 6 pm, and was told they could only do muffins. Huh? The mind is a weird and mysterious place |

So much for McDonald's "all day breakfast": I tried to order two sausage biscuits at 6 pm, and was told they could only do muffins. Huh? They could be just out. Savoir-Faire is everywhere! The T1 Trust, T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, America's First HST |

So much for McDonald's "all day breakfast": I tried to order two sausage biscuits at 6 pm, and was told they could only do muffins. Huh? Not all items are available all day. In most parts of the country, they only have hotcakes, muffins, and breakfast burritos. I understand that in the deep south, they have biscuits instead of muffins. Either way, no McGriddles or bagels. However, a commercial for it just came on TV and it shows both muffins and biscuits. From what I've read, though, franchisees aren't required to carry everything. So much for McDonald's "all day breakfast": I tried to order two sausage biscuits at 6 pm, and was told they could only do muffins. Huh? Not all stores have all items all day. Some ran out of kitchen space. <ed>Remember each item needs a different cooker / steam tray so they have to rotate them if the store's kitchen isn't big enough. |
