This weeks episode of how the universe works dealt with where the bulk of the water on earth came from. Several years ago my favorite theory was that it formed with the earth and over millions of years after the moon was formed it boiled up out of the mantle in volcanos. That theory was poopooed as being absurd and instead it was proposed that the bulk of the water came from comets. But thanks to heavy water it has been recently proved that our water couldn't have come from comets. Then the next best candidate was asteroids which have been found to contain much more water than previously thought but still the numbers didn't add up. Now most recently through the analysis of seismic waves passing through the earth it was found that the sound waves slowed down when passing through areas of the mantle and that could only be caused by the presence of, guess what,.........................water, Water that had to be there from the start all along. Now they are back to the volcano theory. Well wadda you know. Imagine that! Bob DeWoody My motto: Never do today what you can put off until tomorrow as it may not be required. This no longer applies in light of current events. |

I strongly believe exact sciences cannot give us all the answers to the mysteries of our universe. To many areas to investigate and too many theories, contradicting one another.. We still have so much to learn. Let's hope we use the time, means and intelligence God gave us, further in a proper fashion. rOZZ Music Pictures |

Hopefully we will hear from more scientists like this year on Iceland. http://www.nordicastrobiology.net/Iceland2015/ A thorough high-level introduction into the role of water in the evolution of life in the cosmos, starting from formation of water molecules in space and ending with evolution of the first organisms. |

Imagine that! most abundant element in Universe is H... & one of the most reactor element is O... combine those 2 from nebulae...& u got a water in whatever form u can get... ;) non-profit org.
