Now My TV lamp quit, I installed My backup lamp and yep, that lamp shows a picture for maybe 5 seconds or so, then the TV dies, well there goes the memory for the new PC and My TV, since a lamp can cost as much as 16GB of ram or about $100 or so, I haven't looked for an osram 915P049010 type lamp for the WD-57731 tv, I've reset the tv 3 times and the same thing happens, I'd tested this lamp too, there was nothing wrong with it.. A New TV is beyond Me for at least 6 months... $64.99(farther away) or $68.00(local) on ebay, $79.99 on Amazon, 2 weeks or so without TV.. I hope it's just a lamp problem, I think I have a 120w lamp in the TV and that might be why My TV works for 5 or so seconds and then quits once I installed a new lamp. The lamp should be 150w and an Osram lamp... Savoir-Faire is everywhere! The T1 Trust, T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, America's First HST |

Bummer, that. Although frankly I don't think the set would have a conniption over a 120w lamp VS a 150w one. Afraid you might be looking at some other problem there. Hope I'm wrong for your sake. EDIT... I assume that by now you are doing some online research. I found one reference to using buttons on the set to bring up stored fault codes. Might be able to tell you something. Bummer, that. Well specs call for a 150w lamp, this lamp is really an arc type lamp, Mitsubishi was very specific in the manual. Savoir-Faire is everywhere! The T1 Trust, T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, America's First HST |

Bummer, that. That lamp is $22.04 on Amazon right now.... Free shipping if you buy two. Probably not Osram. "Time is simply the mechanism that keeps everything from happening all at once." |

Bummer, that. Probably not, but I bought a lamp from them in March of 2012, the lamp lasted a good while, so I may salvage this yet, I may buy 2 or 3 lamps there. Oh and the place that sold Me the lamps? I'd ordered 3, one wasn't the advertised 915P049010 type at all, a 915P049010 is 150w, the one shipped that I returned was a 120w, the rest I don't have a lot of memory about that, only that I did get a refund. Winning at 0200 local. Fell asleep reading out under the mulberry trees, woke up about 0130 when the kitties decided to play tag with my toes. Trying to decide whether to go to bed or back out to the lounge chair ...... Donald Infernal Optimist / Submariner, retired |
