Ok I figured it out, it was a special ship where the crew were on the outside of the hull, and 60 were on board, it all makes sense to me now. Duh, 60 would include both passengers and crew.. The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |

At least 60 people died when a ship sank with 60 people on board. But if a ship sank and nobody heard it sink, was there any screaming? "Time is simply the mechanism that keeps everything from happening all at once." |

I think you are slightly out of date there my friend. 5 minutes over what period? One of the requirements to be on a train crew at the museum is a watch that stays within 30 seconds over 24 hours. I haven't worn a watch in several years. When I started at the museum last year, I bought a cheap pocket watch from Walmart. It has turned out, however, to occasionally jump by 30 minutes or more with no warning. Last Friday, I splurged on a Samsung Gear 2 Neo, which pairs with my phone. I had to download a watch face for it that displays seconds. I also had to get a replacement band to fit my wrist. The museum has three official clocks, all radio controlled. It turns out they don't all agree with each other. I have, up to now, gone by the one at the crew sign in station in the office, but on Saturday I found that it did not agree with my new watch (which I can't change). The one in the depot does agree, within a few seconds, so now it's my standard. (I am declining to catch up with a whole page of 75 posts in this thread, and however many are on the current page.) I have a uni degree in math, thermodynamics, classical mechanics and quantum mechanics. You're kidding right? With those degrees you wouldn't catch me working for BT for starters :-) |

In an amazing coincidence, this bit of gossip comes on the same day as the official announcement of the Muppets' new show. Have you ever knew that Russian pretty old MiG-29s can do an almost vertical take off, like a space rocket? https://youtu.be/VCWjByenDsM |
