I got that phone call yesterday.

Went out today to collect her, a youngish girl with an unknown history that for some reason was getting passed over at a re-homing kennels.

Introductions with my resident mutt went perfectly, I think he was getting lonely since the loss of my Stella.

So I am now back up to two fur rugs cluttering up my floor:-)

There are plenty of unwanted pets out there, all shapes, types and sizes, the one thing in common they all need is a little bit of love and attention from someone that knows how to look after them, I know dogs, to be honest I would not know how to look after many of the others so I leave them up to those that know how.

They have been walked and fed, all I have got to do now is step over them if I want to go anywere:-)

Indeed.
Not only that. They like to socialize with other animals too as we all know.
Our dog Tosca met a hedgehog the other day.
She sniffed at it but in this case she choosed not to socialize:)

Try as I might - I could not get a picture of them standing together, she is so small compared with Toby, just got the measuring stick out, she is 22" at the shoulder he is 29", at a rough gestimate she is 23 to 25Kg he is 54Kg.

This is the larger half - Toby.

He is a clumsy mutt, if it can be knocked over or trodden on it will be:-(

He is a big softy, lets me know if anyone is around and then lets them in with a wagging tail.

Yes, The pictures were taken in a local park, I let toby carry a ball with him, while he has got a ball in his mouth he cannot give any of the children a frendly lick or two (some mothers object).



Same type of ball just different colour, they are a proper dogs ball, the bumps on them make them bounce in different directions on firm or hard ground.

They are naturally a protective dog, once they accept you as part of their pack they will if need be give up their lives to protect you.

This can be a good thing in moderation but it MUST be kept in check otherwise they can become dangerous to other people.

If this does happen it is almost impossible to re-train them:-(

Oh yes, and you know when he steps on your toes.

You can always tell those that don't like big dogs, they turn round and walk off in the opposite direction.

He is a big softy, loves being made a fuss off and if you want to throw his ball for him he will be your friend for life:-)
