Now that the poll for leadership of the Labour party has closed, I hope we see fewer stories about it in the media, I have long since ceased to care! Life on earth is the global equivalent of not storing things in the fridge. |

Intelligent people didn't care in the first place! Labour is finished for a long time in the UK. Shame, they did have some good ideas... I think... Can't bring any to mind just now... Life on earth is the global equivalent of not storing things in the fridge. |

I watched the same coverage, and listened to the same speech. Opposite reaction, enough said. Try and find the policy content online, and study it for yourselves before making up your minds. |

Now I give up even more! I must say though Chris, he's the only labour politician that I've found "interesting" to listen too in ages....interesting times a'coming. The Kite Fliers -------------------- Kite fliers: An imaginary club of solo members, those who don't yet belong to a formal team so "fly their own kites" - as the saying goes. |

http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-politics-34232477 Great speech. I like the way he seems so approachable and not like all those tory establishment knobs. Definitely a man of the people. He is there because the labour party choose their leader democratically. He is the leader the people want. I suspect he will have a broader general appeal than the mainstream media realises. Jeremy Corbyn's victory means Labour's living dead have been vanquished - and English politics has come to life again Thank goodness. Somebody who isn't taken in by the Tories' (and the Tory press's) airbrushing of history. Got a 'strongly agree' from me. |

Jeremy Corbyn's victory means Labour's living dead have been vanquished - and English politics has come to life again I heard the Tories are freaking out and calling him a threat to national security. Reality Internet Personality |

Jeremy Corbyn's victory means Labour's living dead have been vanquished - and English politics has come to life again Why not? They can't call him a threat to their bank accounts and get sympathy. |

Jeremy Corbyn's victory means Labour's living dead have been vanquished - and English politics has come to life again Yes, Defence Secretary Michael Fallon was on the BBC within an hour with "Labour are now a serious risk to our nation’s security, our economy’s security and your family’s security.", and it was being repeated all day yesterday. That's an old Tory trick of getting your retaliation in first - I was on the receiving end of that personally at the hands of Eric Pickles, 25 years ago. Fortunately, this time they seemed to peak too soon - that particular comment has been buried and forgotten under the avalanche of much more grown-up discussion. But the next three months are going to be very, very nasty. |

How delightfully Fascist of the Conservatives to call a democratically elected leader of the opposition party 'a threat to national security'. You sure you guys are still a democracy? |

You sure you guys are still a democracy? I'm not sure we ever were. |

How delightfully Fascist of the Conservatives to call a democratically elected leader of the opposition party 'a threat to national security'. You sure you guys are still a democracy? & these are the muppets that are keeping us in Europe. Makes one wonder does it not? |

Last I heard, we were still on the same planet as Europe - though one does wonder sometimes what proportion of the population remembers that. |

How delightfully Fascist of the Conservatives to call a democratically elected leader of the opposition party 'a threat to national security'. You sure you guys are still a democracy? What makes you stay in Europe are a number of international treaties that the UK signed and is therefor bound to. They could of course withdraw from the treaties, but there are high political and economic costs associated with that. |

If Harriet Harman had been willing to stand, she would have walked it, and she would also have had a 50/50 chance of getting in at 2020. But age was against her. Sadly i think you're right, though it shouldn't be. If a 66 year old who looks 86 can be elected, then the 65 year old who looks 50 should be equally if not more electable. Interesting days ahead But half of the total posts went to women, including shadow defence, education, business and health. That sounds fair. Life on earth is the global equivalent of not storing things in the fridge. |
