So you are on a register somewhere for them to mail the ballot paper out to you :-)Why do one have to register to vote? Likely have to pay taxes there to get on that roll (register) to be sent a ballot. |

So you are on a register somewhere for them to mail the ballot paper out to you :-) Yes. Here we have to go a voting place where they check both ID and there register so one cannot vote several times and they put one closed ballot in a box. |

There is already evidence that a certain amount of fraud is taking place with postal votes, Your country too . MMM Funny how this happens when the conservatives are in power mmmm There was also some fraud in they last election here and was quickly hushed up wonder if that was because it was pointing to the conservatives . Then there was a problem in the Bush years i seem to remember . First the conservatives bring in complusary voting but lose and now there calling for it to be abolished here , wonder why !!!!!! Not that the Lib's have ever been able to win on there own , here . But there seems to be a patten no matter what country you talk about . Any vot rigging seems to always point to the conservatives So people are right , vote for the conservatives you know they will screw you over . OMG with logic like that there is no hope . I'm not gona book a seat on Qantus as you never know if there gona crash , better go with one of the cheap ones we know they always crash ...makes real cents that logic . |

How is it possible to fraud a voting system? It's beyond me. Hacking the computer system perhaps but that is very difficult. Are postal votes treated different to other votes? |

How is it possible to fraud a voting system? Sometimes people fraudulently apply for a postal vote in the name of a person who is a registered elector, but who the fraudster considers unlikely to turn out to vote in person - maybe an elderly person with mobility or cognitive impairments. |

Jann we don't use computer at voting booths , some of the boxes somehow went missing ?? And postal votes allow people to vote weeks before any real policy's come out so people are voting postal when they should not do so and have no reason too . This has shown to favor the opposition which ever that may be . However here it's the conservatives that are pushing people to vote this way . I have meet a few people that did this and now regret it , now they know just how much Abbott is a 2 face lier Hell they didn't even ask for my driver lic which has a photo to prove i was who i said i was . |

Jann we don't use computer at voting booths , some of the boxes somehow went missing ?? OMG. No identification card! Thats illegal here. Here we leave the ballots after we show our id card to three people that check everything and they put the ballot in the box and tic that person from the "Röstlängd". Wikipedia has only translation in Swedish for that Word. Röstlängd is a list of persons entitled to vote in an election. No computers needed... |

How is it possible to fraud a voting system? I know about this fraud. Minor Explanation was abolished in Sweden on 1 January 1989 and replaced with stewardship. For people who, because of such mental retardation are unable to defend their rights, manage their property or to ensure their personal administrative court can instead decide on the trustee. Anyone who is under manager loses, unlike those who only have good man, his legal capacity and lack the right to speak for themselves and on their own contract. Anyone who is under managers may vote in general elections. Is it used here? YES |

Let's just make sure the 'Corruption' is equal. Well if the conservatives would stop getting busted everytime then it would probably be equal . Over here the Lib's get cought rigging votes and Labor get cought when the ICAC start investigating them I.C.A.C is the independent commission against corruption http://www.icac.nsw.gov.au/ |

OMG. No identification card! Thats illegal here. And over here , but they are not asking people to show there Driver's lic and just ticking you name off the electrol roll We don't have a Id card , they try'd that back about 20 yrs ago but it did not go down well so now they use the Driver's lic seeing as that is very hard to get over here . You need to have what is called 100 points of id . Birth cert passport medicare card citizen ship papers deed pole cert if you change your name with the court stamps electric bill with you current address you need at least 3 of the first 5 to get a driver's lic , as well as passing the test . |

ahh see the pommy system of first past the post is crap you need our system preferences it stops this sort of thing . If your no. 1 person don't get enough votes then it goes to preferences . You put all the candiates from 1 to however many there are or you can chose what is called above the line where each candiate has to say whom his votes go to if he has not got enough to win outright and you only chose 1 person or party |

OMG. No identification card! Thats illegal here. We have now a National Identity Card that is valid in all countries in the Schengen Area. Not EU:) confused? No passport needed when going to those countries. But we must identify ourself when voting to prove that you are eligble to vote. Id card, passport or immigrant papers with photos are enough. Citizen, Age and person are Always checked. |

Does Sweden have a problem with many people that they think are iffy? Sounds like it. Why? I dont't Think so. Perhaps some are. Anyway. The Scandinavian Culture is very much like the British Culture. For instance the election in Britain that's almost like a mirror of our election last year. |

You just have to love the BBC... Sour Grapes? Scottish demands already? ...& my favourite BBC report of the year so far... A baffled American's take on election ..."For one thing, telling the candidates apart. To American eyes and ears David Cameron, Ed Miliband, Nick Clegg and even Nigel Farage had the same accents, same suits, same gestures - four British Mitt Romneys. We too had a Mitt Romney, but we could tell him apart from Barack Obama." Hilarious :-) |

Conclusion: Mr Chris S. does not gather the difference between EU and NATO. If that would be a general British case, well that might explain a thing or two. If you're going to try to make these requirement5s, then I shall remove such information from my account. |

Sturgeon is the biggest threat to England's way of life since Hitler in 1939. Thank you for reminding me to take my passport when I visit Glasgow next week (20-22 May). There'll be pictures in the Cafe when I get back - if I get back ;) |
