Obviously, the Work Unit shortage has been discussed ad infinitum now. Since downloading and setting up the standard Windows BOINC client, I have been unable to get anything for my computer to chew on. I have returned to using the existing client for the time being.

In my opinion, the SETI@home team should have anticipated this problem before posting about the availability of the BOINC version on the <a>home page[/url] of the SETI@home site. We have all been waiting eagerly for the release of the new software, and it should have come as no surprise that everyone would immediately try to get it up and running.

The problem has been further compounded by the lack of information from the team. WU-hungry folks would clearly like to know when units will become available, but that knowledge has not been forthcoming. As far as I can tell, this fourm is only monitored by users, so whining about work unit shortages here is probably a waste time.
