I can confirm this driver causes lots of trouble on win 10.

Well, you don't have those pretty graphics in Ubuntu, However, you Do have the Run times which for Catalyst 15.7 is about 25% Slower on my 6970 & 6850 than with Catalyst 14.6. I went back to 14.6 after just a couple hours with 15.7...

Well I`m fully aware you know everything better.
I`m running Linux Mint 17.1 which is a Ubuntu derivate without any issues.

Thats all i`m saying.

Hmmm, I'm not finding a Linux machine in your computer list. What card were you using? Was it a 6950 like Raistmer's, an OzzFan 6850, or another 6 series card similar to my 6970 or 6850? Because, it would appear all the graphics showing bad juju were of 6 series cards.

So it wasn't a 6 series card, if that was the card he used for testing. Mike appears to have used a card similar to the one in the Top image...the one that 'looks' normal;

I am not seeing that on my Radeon HD 7970:

But I am seeing something similar on my HD 6850 in the same Windows 10 box:

My card is a Sapphire factory OC @1050 MHZ.

I know the HD6 series wasn`t the best.

More M$ B$....

I just installed 15 optional updates on my tablet and on restart my wireless network connection was inoperable. Troubleshooter said there was a hardware problem. After uninstalling all 15 the hardware problem miraculously fixed itself(?!)

Also after informing me my tablet would not work on Win 10, update STILL tries to send KB3035583 and 2976978 even though hidden repeatedly. Comes under the usual M$ heading "I guess we didn't think that one through".

Anybody interested in a class action lawsuit against this O$ for malfeasance and intentional destruction of functioning computer systems?

The new way of Win10 updates is in the news for the latest uptick...

(I just got yanked out of my work with a "You must save all your data and restart" type of message. Sheesh... Who's computer is it?! Who is working for who??!)

Anyhow, call this fun?

Microsoft's third Windows 10 cumulative update said to fix Store issues

... What else is in it? We have no idea...

... The Microsoft Support page says nothing about the specific features and fixes that are new to this update beyond "This update includes improvements to enhance the functionality of Windows 10."...

... I'm not sure why Microsoft is not providing users with a list of what's new in these Windows 10 cumulative updates. I also don't know how long the rapid release cadence of these cumulative updates is likely to continue.

Multiply that up by a number of workers all chasing tight deadlines and there's far too much jangled nerves for that one.

Perhaps that's why we've only got just the two test users on that one! One to watch.

According to Microsoft, cumulative updates seem to be the new norm for patching and updating Windows 10. Microsoft's support page for the latest update states:

"Windows 10 updates are cumulative. Therefore, this package contains all previously released fixes.
If you have previous updates installed, only the new fixes that are contained in this package will be downloaded and installed to your computer."

Hope your data plan agrees.

I saw un update was coming and suspended two vLHC@home tasks using Virtual Box but did not suspend either SETI by Lunatics using my Radeon GPU nor two long winded CPDN tasks. After the reboot I resumed the 2 vLHC tasks and all the others were there plus 4 ATLAS@home tasks.

What do you suppose people would have said 30 years ago if M$ would have said they were going to Copy Everything on Your Computer? Back then, and until recently, that was called Hacking, and was one of the Worse things that could happen to you. Viruses were known to Hack Computers, so, I suppose Windows is now similar to a Virus. Well, some people have been saying Windows was the biggest Virus on the 'net for years...guess they knew something.

Not Me, I refuse to willingly allow my Computers to be Hacked. So, Windows NSA Edition will never make it on one of My machines.
You guys have fun now, and just remember, they use to call it Hacking...

Your joke caused me to think about computing 30 years ago. Were you around back then? Then naturally I compared that to the topic of this thread. Computing has come a long way hasn't it.

Just got a spoofed number phone call from "Window$"(well that's what he told me..), and the "rep" said there was a problem with my computer... :). "Oh my", I replied "what must I do?"

Kept him on the line for almost 20 minutes ostensibly entering commands(not) to allow the tech to "diagnose my problem" after many repeated tries to commandeer my system, I finally told him his scam might have a better chance of success if he could actually speak English and wasn't so stupid he couldn't recognize when someone was intentionally wasting his time.....

Best entertainment I've had in several days...

I have gotten over 30 of these idiot calls. Sometimes I play with them, and sometimes I say a few four letter words and hang up. I feel bad for the people who don't know what they are doing, and get duped.

I did resign onto Win 10 with my Microsoft account, and started turning on services. I was able to log on with a pin, so that 15 character strong password doesn't have to be entered every time I reboot. I already know what information my new smart phone is collecting, and it has increased the functionality massively, and Win 10 actually collects less than Google does with my Android phablet. I turned on one thing after another with my phone, the the results are amazing. I am slowly turning on Win 10, the NSA version, and will report on what happens. Cortana is still off.

Here you are, from a few pages back;

So, are you all so smitten by this so called "free" OS, that you don't bother about that you have agreed in the privacy agreements to this:

We will access, disclose and preserve personal data, including your content (such as the content of your emails, other private communications or files in private folders), when we have a good faith belief that doing so is necessary to protect our customers or enforce the terms governing the use of the services.

Was it that easy to make everyone throw privacy to the side, and be owned by Microsoft, and your respective governments?

And it doesn't matter what privacy settings you set to off, MS will still be able to access, disclose and preserve personal data, including your content (such as the content of your emails, other private communications or files in private folders)

Ah well, this is what happens when people doesn't read the TOS agreements of the programs they install.

I didn't know that it should be that easy to make people agree to a slave contract.

Free OS, yeah sure, and those who falls for it are the real product.

Geeze, have fun being a product owned and operated by Microsoft, and don't ever again complain about privacy issues.

As soon as you hit Accept, you've been Had.
It doesn't matter what settings you change or how many passwords you brew up.
Nothing is going to turn Off that TOS, or protect you from it.
Except a disk format, that would solve it...

You are right. Here is what I do know. Every time you pass a police car, your license plate is recorded. Every time you pass a road camera, which are everywhere, your position is recorded. Every time you use a credit card or debit card, that is tracked. Every phone call, text message, or other interaction with society is tracked. Cell phones actually transmit more information than Win 10. Since 9-11, we lost a lot of our privacy. The NSA became very strong, and the FBI is even stating that the public will hold no secret they can't access. When 9-11 happened, over 3000 people died needlessly, but since then over 150,000 died because of gunshots just in the US. I am coming to realize that all the spying stuff is just the new norm. I have problems with it, but there is not much I can do about it.
