Russian simulated strikes against Sweden.

It was the 4:th of July that two TU-22M Backfire almost entered Swedish airspace heading for the naval base in Karlskrona and airbase Kallinge in southern Sweden.
The same day Russia sent bombers against US. One of the Russian pilots in the airspace outside California greeting: "Good morning, American pilots. We are here to congratulate you on your Independence Day! ".

According to DN's sources the Russian flying is a reminiscent of when the same kind of bombers in the Good Friday night in 2013 practiced simulated strikes against Sweden.
- With the cruise missiles that these planes carry the Russians don't have to get so close to the border. This simulated strike is a pure provocation, says an intelligence expert.

What would the purpose be? Stefan Ring that was a lieutenant colonel in the Air Force and served at the National Defence College responds:
- Because there are military targets the russian bombers where heading it is reasonable to assume that they have been practicing for a military operation in a war against Sweden. But to behave in this way is very aggressive, says Stefan Ring.
- The key is to send a signal that Russia believes that Sweden is on the wrong path in their deeper security partnership with NATO and the United States. When the Russians notice that the message is not impacted by diplomatic means, they resort to military, explains Stefan Ring.

The Independent: Countries that drink the most alcohol in the world revealed.
OECD data shows Lithuania had the highest consumption, followed by Austria, Estonia, and the Czech Republic.
Russia is on the fifth place, very close to France and Germany.

WOW!!!!
Russia made the TOP FIVE in drunkenness.
Congratulations!

In most countries people consumed less alcohol in 2013 than in 2000. However, consumption in countries like Lithuania, Poland, and Russia actually rose over that time period.
Also Chile, Sweden and China also rose over the period.

Alcohol consumption in Russia will drop to 10 liters per capita per year. This objective has been set by the collection team for alcohol consumption, which is headed by Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandr Chloponin.
According to Russia's chief narkolog Yevgeny Brjun have spirits consumption in recent years has dropped by 4.5 liters per year to 13.5 liters per year. The goal is to reduce drinking by a further 3.5 liters.
Yevgeny Brjun has also launched a campaign to collect signatures to support regulating sales of alcohol. Brjun advocate liquor is only sold at specialty stores (like the Swedish Systembolaget, Finnish Alko or Norwegian Vinmonopolet).

In a new strategic document that Russian President Vladimir Putin signed on New Year's Day singled for the first time the United States as a threat to Russia's national security. It is seen as a sign of how relations between the countries deteriorated in recent years.

President Putin 'probably' approved Litvinenko murder
http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-35370819
Sounds almost like from something in a John le Carré book.
Vova Putin has probably already removed his links to this murder.

The Kremlin has introduced a package of bills to the Duma to make the National Guard a legal entity with sweeping powers to arrest, interrogate and use of deadly weapons against Russian civilian suspects or “troublemakers.”

Sounds like Russia in the 30's.

Over half of Russians have described their attitude to Stalin and his methods of state management as positive in a recent public opinion poll.

Just normal Russian Culture.
Whether Tsar, Commissar, or Putin I:
Never really changes.

A LOT have changed in Russia since then.
Two russian politicians that I could relate to.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov

Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin

It's a pity though that Vova Putin rules Russia as a Tsar or like Stalin.

Hmmm.
Actually it says that Russia is the fastest growing travel destination.
31.6 millions visitors aren't that many.
19.9 million foreigners visited Sweden in 2014.
Half a million comes from Russia and are the third nation to spend most money here. About 100 euros per person/day.
Большое спасибо :)

A Soyuz rocket has conducted the first launch from Russia’s Vostochny Cosmodrome.
Constructed by the Russian Government to service the country’s future space launch needs, Vostochny – in the Amur Oblast region of Russia’s far east – is seen as a long-term replacement for the Baikonur Cosmodrome which Russia continues to lease from Kazakhstan.

Here we go!
MOSCOW.
• If Sweden joins Nato Russia will act. How it will act must be decided by the military establishment.
• It was Sweden, not Russia, that froze relations between our countries.
• The Baltic countries have not shown any gratitude to Russia for releasing them without violence. The Russian foreign minister Sergey Lavrov said this in an exclusive interview with the Swedish daily newspaper Dagens Nyheter.
http://www.dn.se/nyheter/sverige/russia-issues-nato-warning-to-sweden/
Mr Lavrov dismisses talk of Russia acting dangerously in the proximity of Nato as a ”dishonest attempt to turn everything upside down”. He considers it is Nato that is moving closer to Russia’s borders and expanding more and more.

Such nonsense.

Russia is currently finalizing the development of a new generation of missiles that are impregnable to NATO Forces, including air defense systems, which may be placed in Russia’s northern territories should Sweden join NATO, the deputy chair of the Russian upper house’s Arms Committee said Friday.

The State Department has contacted the Russian embassy in Stockholm after Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov's interview statements in DN.
- We have been in contact with the Russian Embassy in the matter and put forward our views. Sweden's security policy are determined by Sweden and no one else, says Johan Tegel at the Foreign Ministry's press service.

@Igor
"Мы в Швеции сами принимаем наши решения о нашей политике обороны и безопасности. Ни одна страна не должна делать это за нас, мы делаем это сами. Мы требуем уважения к этому, также как мы уважаем решения других стран в отношении политики безопасности и обороны. Швеция находится вне блоков давно, это нам служит хорошо. Мы говорили об этом миру много раз, и Москва знает это", — заявил шведский премьер агентству ТТ.
"We in Sweden have our decisions about our defense and security policy. No country should not do it for us, we do it ourselves. We demand respect for this, just as we respect the decisions of other countries with regard to security and defense policy. Sweden is outside the NATO block for a long time, it serves us well. We told the world about it many times, and Moscow knows it, "-. said Swedish PM Stefan Löfven.

Why does always Russia bring up wars between them and Sweden that happened more than 200 years ago?
And why does Russia think that Sweden is an aggressive nation?
