"The miracle appears to be spreading". The head of the local administration of the city of Svetogorsk, Sergei Davydov, told the news site 47news. He had seen tears on a statue of Bolshevik revolutionary Vladimir Ilyich Lenin, too. https://www.gazeta.ru/social/news/2017/03/05/n_9758909.shtml Like the statue of Tsar Nicholaus II in Crimea. https://themoscowtimes.com/articles/untitled-57359 |

OSLO, March 19. /TASS/. Oslo should understand that its possible move to join the NATO European missile shield will not be left unanswered by its neighbor Russia, Russian Ambassador to Norway Teimuraz Ramishvili said in an interview with Norway’s state-run NRK TV channel. "In this case we will have to make military-level technical decisions needed to neutralize the effect of the possible creation of a missile shield element. Naturally, it will trigger a vigorous reaction in Norway, which will claim that Russia poses a military threat to the country," he said in an NRK interview aired late Saturday. "Norway has to understand that after becoming an outpost of NATO, it will have to face head-on Russia and the Russian military might," Ramishvili said, adding that the move "will become a new factor that will be included in our strategic planning as an additional problem in the Arctic Region." "Therefore, there will be no peaceful Arctic anymore," he added. http://tass.com/politics/936322 Brrrr:( |

A Declaration of Hostilities? Of course it's a Declaration of Hostilities. Russia has already threaten Denmark telling them that Russia have nukes. Russia also done the same to Sweden and Finland! |

A Declaration of Hostilities? Bigger defence spending and reintroduktion of the drafting system in Sweden and Finland. Meaning higher taxes... |

Without 'Nukes', or the ability to stop a vastly more powerful conventional military. You cannot stop the Russian Empire. Perhaps we should start all over again. Swedish nuclear weapons program https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swedish_nuclear_weapons_program |

How many Russians he is willing to let die, to expand his Empire Yea that's a good idea in't it " lets pour some petrol onto the " smolderin embers" and see what happens " , i think the situation needs " cool heads" and people from both sides to talk to each other WITHOUT any " sabre rattling B/S " from anyone . Sure nobody who posts here quallifiys or " fits" what's needed . Fu#ks sake last thing that's needed is WW3 , there's "situations" all over the world at the moment that are just like a " tinderbox waiting for the spark to ignite them" . ( maybe your media don't cover them FULLY Clyde ,i wouldn't know , i'm just a " pleb" acording to you matey ( how's the weather " under the bridge today ) ;-) but sure the media here and what Janne see's is a bit more " rounded" than your " polarised" view of the world spoon fed to you by your " media" ) Life is what you make of it :-) When i'm good i'm very good , but when i'm bad i'm shi#eloads better ;-) In't I " buttercups " p.m.s.l at authoritie !!;-) |

Understanding a Putin type, is the first step necessary to understand what he may do. Well some are trying. Vera Efron for instance who have written a book about him called "Being Putin". https://www.amazon.com/Being-Putin-Vera-Efron-2016-01-07/dp/B01FKTLCSO/ref=sr_1_4?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1489972966&sr=1-4&refinements=p_27%3AVera+Efron (Oh my. Amazon knows how to set ridicously high prices. The Swedish edition cost me about 20 bucks:) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bHF667h6la0 |

What's your answer Gary " roll up your trouser leg , open your shirt and a funny handshake and everything will be " hunky dory" and everyone's a happy bunnie" , think cool , calm dialogue between the parties has a much better chance meself , but i'm just a 43 year old who don't know much do i . Least i KNOW if the " shi#e does hit the fan " where i live about 4 /6 miles away from the old " Twin bases" in Suffok Uk ( google it ain't hard so won't give links , sure you know how google works ) all i'm going to know is a bright flash as a " satan" goes off . The century-old Finnish history is a story of survival. Finland has repeatedly passed the threat from the outside, but against the hybrid warfare and propaganda, the best defense is not weapons, says President Sauli Niinistö. It is about using your brain. Defence sits between the ears, says the president, in an interview for HBL and DN. Hyvä Suomi :) https://www.hbl.fi/artikel/sauli-niinisto-i-hbl-intervju-vart-viktigaste-forsvar-sitter-mellan-oronen-2/ On 6 December, it has been exactly one hundred years ago Finland declared its independence from the Russian Empire. |

Without 'Nukes', or the ability to stop a vastly more powerful conventional military. You cannot stop the Russian Empire. A few 'Nukes' may not impress Tsar Putin. How many Russians he is willing to let die, to expand his Empire. Is the only question. Nonsense about expansion is the product of imagination on the base of semi-knowledge. Some sort of obsession. Oh, I have remembered James Forrestal, "The Russians are coming. The Russians are coming"... P.S. BTW, try to remember the Cuban Missile Crisis and try to imagine - what if that situation will near the borders of Russia instead of US borders. Why Russia must resignedly suffer strengthening of unfriendly military presence near her borders? |

Russia's military power continues to grow rapidly - especially in those parts of the country which faces Europe. In a recent report to the government noted that Vladimir Putin's military exercises are focused on a potential new major war. - Russia prepare for large-scale warfare, says Fredrik Westerlund, research director at the Swedish Defence Research Agency, FOI. - We note that the Russian military's freedom of action has increased the most in the west of the country. Especially when it comes to offensive resources, and not least in terms of tactical nuclear weapons. While the United States has reduced its military spending to 3.3 percent of GDP, and China is 2 per cent of GDP, Russia has increased its military spending to 5.4 per cent in recent years, Ryssen kommer:) Воздушно-деÑантные войÑка, ВДВ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OlQ6KqTlyfk |

A prominent Russian lawmaker, State Duma Deputy Vitaly Milonov, who has praised the Kremlin's trade embargo on European Union goods has been photographed outside a fish shop in Finland and accused of unpatriotically buying sanctioned foodstuffs. In response, Milonov cast his accuser as a "hamster," a derogatory term for opposition-minded liberals, and suggested those of his political persuasion make unmanly purchases like smoothies. "Unlike liberal hamsters, we don't go to Finland to buy smoothies, but as equal partners to speak with people who wanted to spit at sanctions," Milonov said. "I would like to remind liberals that Finland for Petersburgers is a vacation place, and Imatra (South Karelia in Finland) is practically a suburb of Petersburg," he added. |

Can NATO allies say same? There are countries not allied to NATO in the Baltic region. And we are not unfriendly neighbours! Still Russia uses threats like deploying nukes and missiles VERY close to Finland, Estonia and Sweden!!! Even verbal threats. Alakurtti in Murmansk 50 km from the Finnish border. St Petersburg even closer. Kaliningrad quite close to Sweden's southern parts like Gotland and Blekinge. Heck. Knowing Russia's lack in knowledge in navigation we know that Russia are patroling OUTSIDE their borders. Lurking in the Stockholm archipelago... Little Green Men as they are called. |

This what I think. So why relationship come strained? :) Sweden and Finland not part NATO, so why they attend NATO summit in Warsaw, and send troops to military exercises cross from Russian borders? How this not allied to NATO? They also make defence cooperation agreement with US and UK. Look at agreement these two countries make with Saudi Arabia and others. Look at mess they make when they do "regime change". Why Russian perception NATO threat not valid? This all I wonder. :) This the "guest" that make neighbours come unfriendly. Like snake in grass for own ends maybe. Do you remember this? The Partnership for Peace (PfP) https://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D0%9F%D0%B0%D1%80%D1%82%D0%BD%D1%91%D1%80%D1%81%D1%82%D0%B2%D0%BE_%D1%80%D0%B0%D0%B4%D0%B8_%D0%BC%D0%B8%D1%80%D0%B0 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Partnership_for_Peace Only five years ago, there were joint exercises between NATO including Sweden, Finland and Russia. But after Russia's annexation of Crimea and the war in Ukraine's the relations are frozen ground. If first bomb fall on Helsinki :( it more like to be US that miss St Petersburg, than Russia aggression to our neighbour. That's a possibility that both Finland and Sweden are very much aware of. That's why we are so concerned. If I remember right, Russia said it was the Dutch:)Lurking in the Stockholm archipelago...It reported here British got lost :)) [/quote]Little Green Men as they are called. This propaganda. :) we have no little green men. How can you tell? LGM's don't operate in Russia. |

Arguing that the Estonians, Latvians and Lithuanians are more russophobic than any other nation in the world, the Russian propaganda site, SputnikPogrom, outlines how Moscow must work to split up the three countries into smaller units dominated by ethnic and linguistic minorities to put them on course for reabsorption into a Russian empire. The 3500-word unsigned article entitled “How We Will Reorganize the Baltic Region†is one of the most detailed offerings of its kind, something intended to support Moscow’s claim that the three Baltic countries are not full-fledged states and to sow fear and division in each of them. The article begins with a broad attack on the three: “The Balts to this day,†it says, “are conducting an ethnocide against the Russian people,†they supported Chechen separatists in the 1990s, and “applaud†Ukrainian separatists now. They are a NATO place des armes against Russia, and they all have “territorial claims†against Russia. https://sputnikipogrom.com/empire/baltic-states/68062/plan-for-baltics/ http://upnorth.eu/russia-propaganda-baltic-goble/ |

Should we in the Baltic region worry? Nah. Russia is a friendly neighbour. She never use armed forces outside her borders! |
