Yep, it's gonna be: "Reporting 62 completed tasks" -> "Scheduler request failed: Failure when receiving data from the peer" 23 tasks left on my 560Ti host, and 18 of them is under 5min shorties... Boards as sticky as anything Downloads - don't ask :-( APs gone away with the wind When that infernal yellow fluffy thing is recaptured make sure its cage is properly secured, and the aforementioned thing restrained to its perch this time around. Ah well, onto backup projects on two out of three crunchers, the third will join sometime later this evening. It is well past noon o'clock here on the left coast and it looks like it is not going to be fixed today, it is time for a group panic. |

Has the "resource share" setting in BOINC version 7.4.36 been disabled? Tried changing it in my profile yesterday (02-28-15) and it hasn't changed yet. |

...with all the server problems may that be the least of your problems :-( Bob Smith Member of Seti PIPPS (Pluto is a Planet Protest Society) Somewhere in the (un)known Universe? |

Reporting is up and running now to get them validated. |

Lets see 1) Science Project - Check 2) Virtually unfunded - Check 3) Not a business - no staff 24x7 4) Mostly donated equipment - Check 5) Never promised constant work or connectivity - Check 6) Backup Projects are available for when Seti is out of work or down - Check What was your question again ? |

I notice a ready-to-send buffer developed over night. It's a shame it required the Scheduler to fall over & no work to go out. If only we could get the production rate to sustain it's peaks, then we could receive work & develop a buffer at the same time... Grant Darwin NT |

Wow indeed. There are only 6 people listed in the "About SETI@home" link on the home page and 1 of them is part time. The other 5 have full time jobs as scientists doing work other than Seti@Home....I am actually amazed that they get as much done as they do - some come in afterhours (ie no pay) and fix problems and yet others come into work on Thanksgiving and kickstart things if needed. As yet no huge source of funding has been found (and some of these guys do apply for science grants to keep this project going) or is likely to be found. So they rely on what they can scrape up and get the users to donate (and very few do......) If they do make contact I would assume that most likely the project would be "taken over" by various governmental agencies and we'd never hear a peep from them again.......... My overall point is - its been this way for years - its is this way now - and most likely it will be this way for the forseeable future.... Sorry if my reply seemed a tad harsh........... |

What was your question again ? This is very well put. We got only 2 overworked full timers. 1 very overworked time shared scientist. 2 time shared administrators. All running a world-wide project 24x7. Sound like fun? Problems have happened before. For example see Eric's comments when he had time to comment on this prior occasion. Eric's comments on May 2007 problems Things will smooth out eventually because we have so many volunteers who care and a committed mini staff. So, still have a question? Read #'s 1-6 below again. When AP is resuscitated perhaps changing the name to Lazarus AP might be appropriate....... "Sour Grapes make a bitter Whine." <(0)> |

And now we are back and still no sign of the missing AP. |
