Yet another terrorist attack, this time in Istanbul.

Most of the casualties are feared to be German tourists.

There are rumors the IS killed a 22 year old Belgian Muslima, accusing her of witchcraft. I couldn't find an English article on the internet. The Belgian government is investigating the case.

Doesn't say much but I wonder why so many European muslims join Daesh.
Regreting and leaving/deserting Daesh means death penalty and often decaptition.

How well does Daesh do with tracking a particular individual not already held captive?

I'm aware of the death penalty for apostasy.
How do they do tracking down their apostates?
And how does Daesh do at tracking down its deserters?

European muslims are foreigners in countries like Syria and Iraq.
Maybe they speak arabic but I doubt they can read or write it.
Thats an easy way to track them down.
The Daesh recruiters also know them and know their whereabouts.

Likely as all authoritarian states do, offer rewards (extra virgins? slaves?) to turn people in. Of course if you inform on your fellow witches and repent ...

And how does Daesh do at tracking down its deserters?

If they stay inside their area, see above.

Did an internet search, and asked a couple of persons with some knowledge, regarding this question.

There was no information, nor knowledge, regarding Daesh capabilities.

Still believe 'apostates' will have to live in fear.

A Jihadist without collecting his/hers paycheck are either dead or a deserter.
http://money.cnn.com/2016/01/19/news/world/isis-salary-cuts/
However apostates are usually trying to flee the country for very good reasons.

The Médecins Sans Frontières-supported hospitals in Syria seems often to be a target for missiles.
MSF believes it is purposefully carried out by either the Syrian government or its Russian allies.
Now Bashar al-Jaafari, Syria’s U.N. envoy, called MSF a “branch of the French intelligence operating in Syria.”
“They assumed the full consequences of their act, because they did not consult with the Syrian government and they did not operate with Syrian government permission,” he said, accusing the U.S.-led coalition of carrying out Monday’s strike.
http://foreignpolicy.com/2016/02/16/syrian-msf-hospital-kept-location-secret-to-avoid-being-bombed/
By the end of 2015, Physicians for Human Rights, a nonprofit that advocates for medical professionals, estimated that at least 240 health clinics across Syria had been struck and that close to 700 medical staff had been killed. Roughly 90 percent of those attacks were carried out by the Syrian regime, according to PHR.

Today in Syria, the abnormal is now normal. The unacceptable is accepted.
101 aerial or shelling attacks has struck MSF-supported facilities over the last 13 months. Several were struck twice after the arrival of medical and rescue personnel. Patients have told us they’re now too afraid to go to hospitals.
