The food groups are: LOL It amazes me what friends of mine in NYC pay for eating. As for the garlic, I'm not a connoisseur nor an aficionado, but I like it ok. All I have on hand is the powdered, and I'm making my mother's chili recipe which doesn't specify what form of garlic, so I'll make do. The mind is a weird and mysterious place |

I just looked at the forecast for Louisville and I see why you're making Chili. If using minced go for the one teaspoon, if using garlic powder double the amount as the processing tones down the flavoring influence. I would include an equal amount of Cumin powder to balance and round out the flavor palate. Good luck and stay warm!..............";D) "Sour Grapes make a bitter Whine." <(0)> |

I just looked at the forecast for Louisville and I see why you're making Chili. Sure enough, there is cumin in her recipe. I'm making a double batch, so hopefully I've done the math right, ;~) I just want to make sure it's as close to what I remember as a kid as possible. And, yes, she puts spaghetti in hers. It is a perfect chili day. The mind is a weird and mysterious place |

I do know about Chili......this is 8 of the 15 1st place awards I have taken. [NOTE] My chili contains LOTS of capsaicin from Bhut Jolokia(ghost peppers) Carolina Reaper, and Chocolate Habanero peppers. It can alternatively be employed as a highly volatile drain cleaner........(does the same for your innards!)..........";D)) "Sour Grapes make a bitter Whine." <(0)> |

But using Bhut Jolokia and Habanero is perhaps going over the top:) Jalapeño however is not so hot and a good startpoint to the Chili World. |

It will burn down the "doors" of your temple. I don't like peppers. I don't like having the doors of my temple burned down. In short, I don't like anything to do with chili. David Sitting on my butt while others boldly go, Waiting for a message from a small furry creature from Alpha Centauri. |

How do you really feel?...........":> Exactly how I said. "Please, Sir, May I have some more?" If it's chili, please sir, may I not have any? David Sitting on my butt while others boldly go, Waiting for a message from a small furry creature from Alpha Centauri. |

LOL! [Edit] making another loaf of white bread in the bread maker. It does a good job of everything. But it is a bit more dense than store bought bread. |

It will burn down the "doors" of your temple. Ah, to the joy of having Thai when the server doesn't believe you. Order a couple dishes with the flaming pepper symbols on the menu. Take a taste and demand they bring the chili spice tray. Spoon some in and mix. Taste. Spoon more in. Taste again. Consume with vim and vigor. Watch the server out of the corner of your eye with a wide eyed expression. What's that the cook sneaked a look out the kitchen door too? You are a round eye and you just put a bunch of chili in. You aren't grabbing for water and ice! (BTW which makes the burn worse!) When server brings check, "Oh, you did mean spicy. Good to know." No more problems getting it made the way it should be made. And just because it is 110F in the shade, you are now cool as cucumber salad. |

It will burn down the "doors" of your temple. Not for me. Let me be clear, though. Not only do I not like the heat, I also don't like the taste. David Sitting on my butt while others boldly go, Waiting for a message from a small furry creature from Alpha Centauri. |

Ragu Quick pizza sauce Mozzarella cheese or Cheddar cheese Pepperoni Precooked hamburger it calls for Green peppers but I rather use red or yellow. Onions English muffins or sliced French bread Take English muffins, cut open and put 1 tablespoon pizza sauce on each. Then sprinkle cheese, hamburger, green pepper and onion and finally sprinkled more cheese on top. Bake in oven until cheese melts thoroughly. In microwave oven, only 1 1/2 minutes. All depends on how your microwave heats. Quick snack for the kids, easy and good. |
