I live in a warmer climate, so I've tried, they just don't last, so I went canned, I spend $27.28 with shipping on a can, a can will last Me almost a month and since I don't need to go back to Barstow for more eggs, that saves money on gasoline for the car, plus wear and tear too.

I just knew back 25 years ago when in Phx az water some day was going to be abd issue along with vegas and I was right. everyone w3ants green grass but hey folks you can't have it, you can't keep up with the Johnson's. Here we even have to watch our toilets and this is no kidding. we cut our water useage by 25% this year. Looks like this year will be no exception either. No real rain since December. My lawn is dead and this is true.

I have about a 18-19cuft refridge, made by Whirlpool in about 2006, it's Energy Star rated too, I'm just saying what I've seen, I'm comfy with what I do, powdered eggs make great Omelettes, yummm.

Some HOSs take the narrow minded view that Astro Turf is not to be used where it can be seen by the public. The other option is to have somebody spray your brown lawn green. I lean toward lots of rock with a adjustable watering head for each plant and a once a week watering. My only problem is my yard is treating to turn green from weed so out comes the weed spray. Got to keep the rock garden showing.
I do have a small garden but the small size limits me on how many different plants I can experiment with each planting cycle. I think I am going to need some sort of cover to protect the plants from the winter freeze and peek summer temperatures. When the plants aren't killed by the weather, the tomatoes are really good on a sandwich.

Having never knowingly had powered eggs, I can't judge but I do remember powdered potatoes. When I was a kid, they tasted - - well - - powdered. By the time I was an adult they were greatly improved. While fresh potatoes are better, I keep the powdered ones on the shelf for when I want a fast meal and I don't have to worry about them sprouting.

I seem to recall back 30 years there was a movement in California championed by the ever present Gov. Brown, to remove dams to allow easier fish migration and return the rivers to a 'natural' state(whatever that is).

Unfortunately for the current residents of California, those dams created reservoirs which contained water which was used for irrigation, drinking, bathing and flushing.

I love it when a plan comes together.......... :(

Not to being political but California and other regions near deserts are more and more becoming a non habital zone due to the global warming.

Well we can fry eggs in the summer time on the sidewalks. LOL but Frying burgers takes a while and the dogs won't let that happen.

Thats a very good solution:) No CO2 emission at all.
Lets paint our streets black and enjoy cooking in the streets.

The freeze-dried #10 Cans from most commercial suppliers claim an unopened shelf life of 25 years. The 2 serving pouches are claimed to last 7 years.

I'm slowly stocking up on both............you never know.

I seen someone install it last summer, it runs about $10 a square foot, I priced it myself. It would cost me a pretty penny to do my GF yard. I guess it would save a lot in the long run on water.

Grant you might check out Xeroscape plantings instead of turf or fake turf. For $10 a sq foot you might be surprised at the natural/native plants that live on <6 inches of moisture a year. Some even bloom 12 months around.

We've had some water restrictions here in the last 10 years mostly due to influx of people, but also drought. Lot of homes here now look like SW states landscape, very little grass.

Good news though from the top of the United States, Colorado snowpack readings are 98% so the rivers will flow well this year unless early spring rains come.
