It has to say something for me that right now I have tears streaming down my face for two lost little kitties and their owners both miles away.
I really do.

Because I have felt their pain.

Once, long ago, as a 2yo kitty Squirrel managed to sneak out one day whilst I was going to work. Came home, no Squirrel at the door to meet me. Odd. OK, she's sleeping. Not. Where is she??

For two fearful weeks I searched the neighborhood for her and finally gave up.
Then a few days later, she showed up cold and scared upon my front windowsill.
I cried so many tears that night.
I laid that wonderful kitty to rest in my back yard a year or so ago, and walk to the back part of my lot to visit her resting place often.

I talk to her, assure her that I still love her, miss her, and always shall.
And even in my most sober moments, usually have a tear to shed for her still........

I have mellowed a lot since years ago.
I was NOT him. I was the guy that backed him up.
Crap rarely came back my far. Bars are not that rough in Wisconsin, guys.
Or gurlz.

Not a place to shy from. Good town. Good people.
And and excellent night life.

I used to hang out in the lower places in town. Things could get rough.
I got involved in a bar brawl in the flats that took a lotta people down.
I played the part of Diesel...and got cut and shot for the effort.
I won the brawl. Cops knew me, and never took me up the hill.

We had an understanding...you watch my back, and I'll watch yours.
This came back to haunt me one night years ago.

Bad night, bikers were on a run.
Guy knocked his gurl out cold on the floor, and I stepped in.

It got ugly from there on out. Challenges were made, boasts that could not be backed up by anything other than a gun.....and one was pulled. And triggered.

I got a shot to my left right chest. He got one to his heart. Not from me, but the cop had showed up by that time. Mine was a little .22 shot. His was a .45 hollow point.
I lived, he did not.

Yeah, I know about barfights...

All I say gets lost some times in meanings misconstrued.
