It looks like, according to my doc, y'all are gonna have to put up with me for some time yet, God willing. Had a checkup today, and my doc was quite pleased with the results, as was I. Blood pressure was 120/70...lowest it's been in a long while. The Losartan is working, and not binging myself silly for the last couple of weeks didn't hurt much either. My triglycerides also took quite a tumble. That is a good thing, as my last tests were offa the charts high. So high that she had me take a 'calcium scoring test'...a type of cat scan that detects calcium plaque in the heart arteries. Although the cost was out of pocket, I opted to take it, as my father had 5 bypass heart surgery a few years ago, and he is only about 20 years older than I am. My score on the calcium plaque test was a perfect zero. My cholesterol levels were a bit high, but lower than in recent history. So again, she was pleased with my current status. She said she was going to check my A1C levels, as I have been 'borderline diabetic' for many years, but the test results have not posted to my personal website yet. Sooooo..... Unless the Lord has other plans, it seems the host that he entrusted with the care of my soul on this pass through life is doing it's job rather well for an old fart of 58 who has not exactly maintained a laid back lifestyle. Some of you have undoubtedly seen them. Some may have not, and I find them so delightful that I must reprise. As posted in the Radio Kitty youtube thread in Jord's Boinc lounge............ A couple of wonderful bits that I would like to share....... I have posted these clips on the Seti boards a few times, but I don't believe I have shared them here recently. You might enjoy. Oscar Mayer...a name that most of you know very well. These are the recollections of a man by the name of Jerry Ringlien. He was in advertising back in the '60s and was responsible for some of the most memorable advertising campaigns of my youth, and probably some of yours. He is an amazing story teller, so it's no wonder he found a place in the advertising profession. I fire up these clips a couple of times a year just to hear him tell the stories. I am thankful that they have survived on youtube for these many years. The story behind the Oscar Mayer 'wiener song'. And one of the most memorable commercials ever broadcast.... My Balogna Has a First Name... I know this is really old stuff, but if you are my age...58...or a couple of years one way or the other, and had a TV at the time....you saw these commercials. He was looking a bit tired those last days. But the voice had not failed him just yet. This was recorded or at least posted in November of 2013. He passed on in December of 2014. I think it's a nice tribute, although he shows signs of getting rather tired. Rest In Peace, Joe. Unchain. I have spent about a quarter of my life just here on Seti. Some do not realize or wish to accept the significance of that dedication. Meowsigh. Not my cross to bear. I do what I do because I have a part in it that some shall realize come the day. I have given hints. Nobody believes me, but that is OK. I run across some things at times that I must share. To be ignored by many. And that is OK too. I share, I try to enlighten. If others don't pick up on it......... I guess it is their loss, not mine. I have presented it, nobody has to accept it as fact. There are a few things I know that I have tried to share that boggle the mind. And I don't presuppose that everybody shall accept my postings as ultimate truth. One day, some shall dredge up my postings from this era and say....WTF.............. He was right.
