What all of you have to try to understand is Prot's words as he says at about one minute thirty in the clip.

"Well I don't come from where you come from, Dr. Becker."

The sooner you all realize that, the better we shall understand each other.

My delight as Prot gives them a measure of their own understanding of the universe is only exceeded by the looks on their faces when he does so.

Just as every child on earth knows the the earth revolves around your sun.
It it just common knowledge, isn't it?

You can see then, why some things I take as simple truths are not the simple thruths that YOU may have been born with.
There are some things that I take for granted that you have no knowledge of, and therein lies our rift.

My grasp and take on your world relies on knowledge and truths that I posess that you do not. They might be simple little things, but the whole matter of life revolves around them, even if I cannot express them succinctly.

When I am called to move on, all these things shall be taken with me, even if I have not told you them in minutia. They shall be taken from this world forever.

So, kids....my take on your lives is more valuable that you may realize, and the time I have left here may impact you in ways you cannot measure in life cycles or earth years, or even light years.

I was put here, I suppose, to enlighten you in the little bit I am able to.
And Prot is just a nickname I picked up.
That's common knowledge where I come from. You have so much to learn before light travel is even discussed with your race. About six or seven generations of your race. Maybe ten, should your planet sustain you that long.
I doubt it. 'Till then, I wish you well, earth citizens.

I can tell you this much, but I suspect that my words shall fall on deaf ears.
There is nothing you can do to 'save' your planet. It is destined to fall into black space in about 10,000 of your earth years when your sun goes supernova and then burns out. Your little planet shall be ejected with the mass that leaves your sun as it explodes. Don't waste any time or trouble worrying about a comet taking you out. One in a twenty billion chance of that. Your life is your sun. And it shall take you with it when it goes.

Meow.

Not to worry, jann.

Your life shall not be impacted by a solar incident for at least 10,000 years.
Your planet's end of life.

Nano nano, kiddo.

Just took a walk out the front door.
Hmm...two packages. That new sway bar I promised Toothless. And the new bushings for it.

Spring is coming along nicely as well.
My baby magnolia has SIX flowers on it this spring.
The monster ferns are arising from the ground. Need some rain though.

The love of my life, my oak tree, is getting to be an amazing thingy.
Since that day that I mowed around it, the trunk is now bigger than my thigh, and she is a most beautiful tree.

Meow, if I do not manage to express it correctly at times, I do love life.

My mom had a huge Pin Oak in her backyard, but it really was too close to her house and her neighbor's house, plus the acorns it dropped every Fall were getting ridiculous. She had it taken down a couple years ago, and squirrels are still coming in and digging up little treasures they buried.
The mind is a weird and mysterious place

As a kid we used to play in a large and old oak.
Until we noticed there where bats there...

Stockholm technology students built and demonstrated their own pulse jet engine. Cool. But private V1's not allowed

Ya know.....
I sometimes get so entranced by that mysterious tea colored liquid.

I get on youtube sometimes and it overtakes me.

I wish to absorb, somehow, everything that has ever taken place in my lifetime, before my lifetime, and what might be after might lifetime, and store if all upstairs.....why, I do not know. And then to try to share it with others here.

Call it an obsession....

I think somehow it may be of use someday...LOL.

I am getting rather tired of the questions.

I am not gay.

I just like kitties a lot. They are a rather large part of my life.
I refer to them all the time, and might I suppose, raise a tail or two.

Fact is, I just am just a guy who loves cast so very much that he has raised them to cult status here an d in many other places around the world as well.

If you do not like it, and resist,, It is futile. Cata are freakin' everwhere there days, accounting for one out of every 7 kept animals in the world.
Better get used to them....they sometiomes will get used to YOU.

I might as well post this too..........\\
As it is pasted on about every tube clip I try to watch these days.
It is hard to determine which is crazier...me, or every one of us.
A mother's determination or man's simple will to survive.
Both may be equally strong.

You wanna get through this?
Retaliate first.

And in all my troubles with rigs last night, I just discovered that my daily driver had ditched Seti.
Made that right again.

Rigs all running OK this morning.

I am trying to get used to a new keyboard.
After years of running IBM clickies......
Ran across a silent keyboard at work that I actually did not mind using.
It's a stock keyboard for a Wyse terminal.....770413-01L.
Found 10 of them on ebay for $5.00 a pop, so I bought the lot.
These come with the terminals, and some companies use existing keyboards or other choices, so there are a boatload of them available cheap, brand new.

What a change...LOL.
The thing weighs ounces instead of pounds.
Actually though, it has enough keystroke travel and some bit of satisfying buckle at the bottom of the stroke that I think I shall not be unhappy with them. And it weighs like...nothing. And I wondered why my right wrist at times was giving me a bit of a tussle picking up that IBM all these years.
I would give them a thumbs up.
