In the bigger scheme of things we are infinitesimal. I really wonder how much of the big picture we are missing or are completely wrong about. For telescopes viewing using wavelengths that our eyes cannot see, then astronomers will use "false colours" to give an artistic but faithful impression of what you could see if your eyes were sensitive to those wavelengths. It is all in the eye of the beholder (or the machine!)... A color that we can see is substituted for a "Color" (wavelength) that we cannot see; such as x-rays and so on. In this way we can get some idea of the totality of radiation and it's type from a cosmic source. ID: 1615794 ·
