In the story about NASA's new booster I read that now the plan for a manned mission to an asteroid has changed. They now plan to send a robotic craft to a small asteroid and then power it to an earth moon orbit. At that point a manned vehicle will be sent to rendezvous with the asteroid in orbit around the moon. This makes a lot more sense to me than going out and chasing an asteroid in it's native orbit around the sun. It is only mentioned in passing.
