Hi, here is an project from Indiegogo from someone how wanna build an ecology RasPi-Farm, to compute for SETI@Home. So, if you´ll spent some money, use this link: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/eco-friendly-seti-with-raspberry-pi-s |

Hi, Sorry to pull the fuse on that one but the RasPi is far better suited to other things. Far better for "eco-crunching" for s@h is to fund a GPU farm with heat-recovery equipment to do something useful with the heat from the GPUs. Cue "Perpetual Power" computing? :-) You will get far far more numbers crunched for your Watts using GPUs than you can ever hope to achieve with any number of a RasPi cluster. The RasPi cluster will also be badly power hungry for the network switches... Hi, Best of luck to them but this isn't the place to ask for money. Welcome to the forums though :) Member of the People Encouraging Niceness In Society club. |

Hi, Compare with this recently released RasPi-like SOC but backed up by a very capable on-chip GPGPU: Number crunching: NVIDIA Jetson TK1 Happy fast GPU crunchin', Martin See new freedom: Mageia Linux Take a look for yourself: Linux Format The Future is what We all make IT (GPLv3) |
