I believe the doco was using the Milan codex if that's the 1 that has 1100 odd pages . The man was way ahead of his time that is for shore and i would not have like to be the army facing his weapons of mass destruction there very similar to weapons we use today only with modern materials . I spose it was good they never got off the drawing board . As his life took a different path when he was commissioned to build a statue of a horse out of bronze .Witch was incredibly hard to do . A replica of the horse is at a horse race venue in Italy and took the best people several years to make with today's machines and furnaces . Da Vinci never finished the statue as a war started and the bronze had to be used to make cannonballs . He then started to do his work on anatomy which are still today the best diagrams of the human body . A real pioneer in so many fields And he got what he wanted to be able to be immortal and put his ideas into other peoples head ![]() |

Does anybody know why the french haven't given them back to Italy or Italy hasn't asked ? Seeing as they stole it This is a big problem for all artworks seized in war. Think of the paintings stolen by the Nazi or forcibly bought from Jewish owners bound to the lagers. Tullio |
