Flight MH17 case against Russia to be heard by humans rights court - BBC News
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w-7kB1KHLFI
The European Court of Human Rights has confirmed it will hear a Dutch case against Russia over the downing of flight MH17 in 2014.

All 298 people on the Malaysia Airlines flight from Amsterdam were killed when it was shot down by a missile fired by Moscow-backed Ukrainian separatists.

The Dutch government argues that Russia's disinformation about Moscow's role in the incident is a violation of the relatives' human rights.

Suspension of MH17 investigation 'disappointing' for Australian seeking justice for parents.

..Matthew Horder's parents Howard and Susan were on the flight as it travelled from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur.

Prosecutors and investigators said they had found "strong indications" Russian President Vladimir Putin approved the use of the weaponry that brought down the jet, but the investigation had "reached its limit" and would be suspended.

Prosecutor Digna van Boetzelaer said the team had "exhausted all avenues of investigation", noting Russia's refusal to cooperate.

Mr Horder said the decision was disappointing after such a long period, but the Sunshine Coast man was prepared for the outcome...

We're going to upset PooTin further in another move.

Australia imposes travel bans and sanctions against three men over downing of MH17.

....The new sanctions imposed by Australia target two of the convicted men, Sergey Dubinskiy and Leonid Kharchenko.

The government has also imposed sanctions on Sergey Muchkaev, a colonel with the Russian Armed Forces and the commander of the anti-aircraft missile brigade that supplied the missile.

The third convicted perpetrator, Igor Girkin, was already sanctioned by Australia in 2014 for supporting separatist activity in eastern Ukraine.

Both Coalition and Labor governments in Australia have thrown their full weight behind the Netherlands-led efforts to secure prosecutions for the crime and to hold Russia responsible for the hundreds of deaths......

UN Aviation Body Rules Russia Downed Malaysian Airliner

The UN aviation council on Monday ruled that Russia was responsible for the downing of a Malaysian airliner over Ukraine that killed all 298 passengers and crew, including 196 Dutch citizens and 38 Australian citizens or residents, the Dutch and Australian governments said in separate statements.

Both governments said the Council of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) would consider what form of reparation was in order in the coming weeks.

"The decision is an important step toward establishing the truth and achieving justice and accountability for all victims of Flight MH17, and their families and loved ones," Dutch Foreign Minister Caspar Veldkamp said in a statement.

"This decision also sends a clear message to the international community: states cannot violate international law with impunity."

"We call upon Russia to finally face up to its responsibility for this horrific act of violence and make reparations for its egregious conduct, as required under international law," Wong [Australia's Foreign Minister] said in a statement.

They have to pay for the damage as well as financial compensation for the victims' families. They can scorn the Dutch investigation board as 'russophob' as long as they want...

But will they ignore the UN's ICAO as well? Fine, then kick them out. Nobody needs Russian airlines that operate international flights. They can stick to their domestic Siberian paradise.
