This gave me a laugh...From the terms and conditions of a Chinese Ebay add. Is that aimed at US or Oz buyers? David Sitting on my butt while others boldly go, Waiting for a message from a small furry creature from Alpha Centauri. |

My Volvo, the best car I've ever owned, has gone to the great scrap metal dealer in the sky. I loved that car and they only gave me $100 for it. Looks like that one got to die of old age though. My previous car, a Subaru did not get to do that. BOINC WIKI |

I salute it. A dignified departure, the right way up with all its wheels intact. So long trusty steed, you have served well. Bob Smith Member of Seti PIPPS (Pluto is a Planet Protest Society) Somewhere in the (un)known Universe? |

So what have you got to replace the old girl with Monday? Nothing. It's the Harley or walking. I'm broke now so there are no cars in the foreseeable future. |

:( I'm sorry to hear that Monday. I couldn't afford to replace my car after it was destroyed in a collision with an unlicensed driver who was travelling without lights and was speeding through a red traffic light. Was paid a pittance for it by the insurance company. Wish I had just kept the wreckage and not bothered cashing the cheque - I could have put it in my garden and sat in it from time to time ... whilst going vroom vroom :) |

:-) Reminds me of the worst I ever had, I'll spare you all the specifics (stopped me from driving for 2 years though). Unlicensed, untaxed, no MOT turned right into knightsbridge. Unfortunately, it was one way with traffic going left. That car performed the best roll I've ever seen...... ...but get this.... ..A month later I get a letter from the old bill criticising my driving ???? I was driving a 26 tonner and speed at the time of the collision was 28mph (Tachograph confirmed that). |

Yeah, it was funny that day (only looking back on that of course). It was just feet away from Harrods and the collision zapped my radiator. Waiting for the recovery truck was a joy, seeing all those snobs held up waiting for the road to be cleared. Looking back on it, shame I did not have my camcorder :-) |

A month later I get a letter from the old bill criticising my driving ...you had the temerity to delay London's resident elite from foraging to and fro from their Harrods trough by getting in the way of an unlicensed idiot in a death machine? Tut tut tut Sirius - what were you thinking :))))))) |

A month later I get a letter from the old bill criticising my driving :-) The vehicle in question was owned by a couple of snobs and the driver was the nanny. Date of accident 21/7/05, tax disc displayed 31/5/05 old bill had a field day.... ..so was totally surprised to receive letter, still in filing cabinet today :-) I wasn't too happy that day as exactly 14 days earlier was on my way to Hunter Street for the last drop of the day when that no 30 bus blew....took 17 hours to get out of London :-( 2005 was definitely a very bad year for me! Edit: - Memory is a bugger as you get older :-( Accident happened 30/6/05, seven days before 7/7. Letter received from the old bill on 6th Oct 05. |
