Well I was just out on my front porch and watched the SpaceX launch. From my vantage point all looked well and I watched it track down range for about five minutes. I would have missed it but my dog had to go potty at that very minute.

I always wanted to see a rocket taking off. Next time get some pictures or even better some video. :D

From where I am, about 50 miles away, you just see a bright light and a big vapor plume. Occasionally I go over to Titusville, right across from the Space Center to watch launches. I watched about 20 shuttle launches from there. It never gets old. But the most spectacular rocket launches were the Saturn Apollo missions. I was 18 when Apollo 11 went to the moon and I watched the launch from Cocoa Beach. To this date those were the most awesome launches to watch.
