I was messing around in photoshop with some images from the Hubble Gallery, because I wanted to make some cool backgrounds for my desktop, and I started freaking out because by just altering the colors and brightness on the images -- VERY CLEAR PICTURES of aliens, alien craft, HUMAN PEOPLE, ANIMALS, PLANETARY OBJECTS, and a whole host of other shit seem to be in the other colors of the nebula rather than just using the whole visible spectrum.

You can verify this with ANY IMAGE FROM MOST NEBULAS, JUST BY DOING WHAT I SHOW YOU AND ON YOUR PC.

I guess that's like having a stellar fireworks display that you can only view from very far away and have to have an incredible lack of knowledge on how dust/debris fields are created in a stellar nursery

At the risk of sounding cruel or snotty - but why wasn't this blatantly obvious in the first place? Those pictures are literally thousands of miles, if not millions of miles apart. Finding faces or objects in such large distances would perhaps seem about as fun as cloud gazing, but no one would actually think there's people in the clouds these days. How do people fool themselves into thinking such incredulous things while throwing all critical thinking and perspective out the window?


I of course have my own opinions, but I like to throw the question out there for food for thought.

the hourglass nebula doesnt have an hourglass in it nor does the Horsehead have a real Horse head. the Witch head nebula wasn't made by witches. To put it plainly, you can call it the Funny abstract face nebula but it doesn't mean that someone made a nebula light years across and plant a very poorly made face in it
