Micheal Watsons link in another thread about the cosmic background radiation has reminded me of something that popped up in the TV series Stargate: Universe. In the program a race of beings about a million years ago discovered that there was a pattern in the cosmic background radiation and sent a ship to investigate it, and apparently there could be some truth to it: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-11837869, and the paper on arxiv: http://arxiv.org/ftp/arxiv/papers/1011/1011.3706.pdf. The kitties approve this message. I have been doing the Seti search for over 12 years going on 13. And, despite what some may think, I am not a silly soul. It is costing me THOUSANDS of dollars a year to maintain the search that I believe in. And I DO believe in it. Why else would I? One day we shall be rewarded with the truth. Maybe soon, eh? Yes Msattler it is a good read but not what Micheal's link says that one has been faked . I do believe in God but I don't like bogus science to prove it |

It would be something to tell the grandkids. Seti? *puffs on pipe* Let me tell you a story kids, a long time ago there was a project called Seti@home, and what we did was analyse radio stuff to find the signal that may possibly be extraterrestrial in origin. *puffs on pipe* Now in them days... *notices grandkids have fallen asleep* Ah, to be young again :) Member of the People Encouraging Niceness In Society club. |

Zapped Sparky, Loved the TV series Stargate Universe. I just wished they would have ended it better. Here is another version: Cosmic microwave background Cosmic microwave background seen by Planck 21 March 2013 Acquired by ESA’s Planck space telescope, the most detailed map ever created of the cosmic microwave background – the relic radiation from the Big Bang – was released today revealing the existence of features that challenge the foundations of our current understanding of the Universe. The image is based on the initial 15.5 months of data from Planck and is the mission’s first all-sky picture of the oldest light in our Universe, imprinted on the sky when it was just 380 000 years old. |

Zapped I must say sorry the catholic picture is at the ESA web site and it was ESA that changed it they enhanced the red and blue to make it stand out so Micheal's link was right I only questioned the picture not the article http://spaceinimages.esa.int/Images/2013/03/Planck_enhanced_anomalies |

Another article discussing the recently released results that seem to indicate the influence of other universes on our own. http://www.kashmirmonitor.in/news-is-our-universe-merely-one-of-billions-47765.aspx |

This would be very close to the Hindu view of the Universe, which I could gather from a book by His Divine Grace A.C.Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. There is not only the Jewish/Christian/Muslim view of the Universe but there are other cultures and philosophies. Tullio |
