This probably doesn't belong here, but I don't know where else to put it. If in doubt just create your own thread. ;-) There are a lot of those around and I've got a few myself but unless the guys in the lab do a manual clean up we'll just have to live with them (1 is stopping me from deleting a PC that hasn't been in use since last year). Cheers. |

Kudos - ntpckr and rfi are green on the SSP :-)) Gripe - We dont have a option in project preferences for `VLAR on GPU` for nut cases like me that want to run them, on ATI GPU or anything else that can handle them. |

Kudos: when I started this I never dreamed I'd still be running Seti @ Home over a decade later. Amazing success and it's still ongoing. Gripes: the latest update makes my first generation Corei7 seem like a Pentium III by comparison. My RAC dropped down a vertical cliff never to return. OUCH! You win some, you lose some. |

Kudos: Everybody who kept the faith and kept the project alive while I was unable to crunch. To the team who keep everything running. Gripes: Why can't I afford a better system? My credit rate has fallen almost back to when I started (or so it seems!) |

Gripe: Many of us can't get all the Astropulse tasks that we want, but here's an AP-only computer 6016862 with 667 Astropulse tasks "in progress". What happened to the task limits? No wonder this anonymous host is #7 on the top 100 list with a RAC of 80,333.83 - those 660ti's don't run out of work duiring the weekly maintenance or when no AP's are being produced (average turnaround 10.7 days). Maybe it's a fluke, but the "in progress" count has increased since yesterday. Another Fred Support SETI@home when you search the Web with GoodSearch or shop online with GoodShop. |

Kudos: to JeffC for doubling the rsc_fpops_bound for pfb MB Wu's from *10 to *20 Claggy |

Kudos: to JeffC for doubling the rsc_fpops_bound for pfb MB Wu's from *10 to *20 Do we have any idea why he did that? All it means is that a stuck app can spin its wheels without making any progress for twice as long, before being killed with a EXIT_TIME_LIMIT_EXCEEDED error. |

Kudos: to JeffC for doubling the rsc_fpops_bound for pfb MB Wu's from *10 to *20 No, but I hope it was for hosts running a mix of GPUs, from fast GPUs to mega slow. Claggy |

I have an astropulse work unit that has racked up 91 hours and is 12% finished. What is going on ? For Mac's there are two AP apps, AstroPulse v6 6.02 i686-apple-darwin and AstroPulse v6 6.02 powerpc-apple-darwin, the second one is a lot slower no non-powerpc (around a quarter of the speed) Claggy |

from now on I will abort all astropulse units. 1000 hours of CPU time ??? I can't believe that something is not wrong somewhere. |

You can elect to not receive Astropulse in your Seti@Home preferences (from your account page). Also turn off the option to receive tasks from other applications. I wish this guy followed that advice. He's got 30 APs on his Darwin system, sitting there, waiting to time out, and a further 15 on his XP system. He only appears to run Seti v7 on his CPUs and GPUs, so why he's allowing APs to gather and sit on his system is anyone's guess. And I'm out of puff to ask nicely. ;-) |

Gripe: I had to leave the project about 2 years ago. Kudos: I came back with a new computer and found that the project is still alive and well and running strong ! I'm glad to be back and glad that the project is running so well !! |

Quoting the post before yours, without editing the quoted text, or taking only parts of it to answer to. What is it with people who feel the need to quote the whole post before them and then add a little ditty to it? Chances are 80% around forums that a person makes a post, the first person to follow will quote the whole damn thing and add his answer to the bottom. There's also people who do this in the middle of the thread, doesn't matter how long the answer is, quote it and add one line of answer! I'm looking at these forums mostly from my phone these days, not being logged in on the forums. Since my present phone is still a Samsung Gio, with a very small screen, this gets to be very annoying, quick. Why is there this ever-present need to use the quote button, instead of the reply button, that's just 3 mm to the left of the quote button? Or if you must quote, why can't you cull out the parts of the quoted text that you do not answer to? Are you so afraid that the OP won't know what you are answering to? That the OP has forgotten what he has written? I'm not even going into the quote-the-quoted-text-with-one-line-answer-and-add-your-own-one-line-answer-to-it sport that others will do. Anyway, back to being away. Just wanted this off my chest. |
