Every time my BOINC screen saver kicks in, the entire screen turns into a rainbow of vertical lines. If I move the mouse to end the screensaver, all is fine and I can continue using my computer with no apparent ill effects. Has anyone else experienced this?

This question came up already maybe 20 times the last 2 days.

Just be patient and try again in a couple of hours.

Thanks for pointing out the "Most recent answer first" sorting function. I missed that the first time around, and it is indeed helpful. Unfortunately, I still can't seem to find the answer to my question, but I'll keep searching--I'm sure it's buried in here somewhere.

I see now I made a mistake in my answer.

Do you know if your system support OpenGL? The graphics need OpenGL to function.
If you do not know, you can download software called "OpenGL Extension Viewer". You can download it here. This program includes a test function also in order to see if OpenGL is supported or not.
