The upcoming full moon will make the moon appear up to 20% larger than normal and will also make viewing the Haley's comet meteor shower seem less intense. This is due to it coinciding with it's orbital perigee. Don't get moonburn watching it. :) Bob DeWoody My motto: Never do today what you can put off until tomorrow as it may not be required. This is just a full moon that coincides with the moon's closest approach during this orbit of the earth. The moon will reach perigee at 11:35 PM EDT. The event is observable all night. For those of you in England and western europe it's already happening, however the greatest effect will be seen over the western hemisphere. I never get to see things like this as it's always cloudy or even raining like it has been the entire weekend. |
